No matter how many times I see them they never fan out their beautiful tails for me. This is all they let me see. So I gave up on the tail and concentrated on the head.
I do love their little top knot of tiny feathers.
Hello Mr Brown-eyes.
Until this year, I never knew white Peacocks existed.
See, all white, Pale.
And I guess this mottling of color is what happens when you mix a colorful Pretty Peacock and a Pale Peacock? You get a Partly Pretty Peacock. lol
Mr Green-eyes?
I absolutely LOVE the blue peacock pics!!! They are beautiful and I can never get them to spread their feathers either!! You've got some great shots. I didn't know that white ones existed either...
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with them...very uncooperative :-) I'm glad you went for the head...I've not really zoomed in on their hair-dos before. Perfect for Hedda Hopper!
ReplyDeleteYay, more birdie pics! What beautiful birds! Oh...Mr. Brown Eyes...*swoon* :-)
ReplyDeletei love these close ups! and the two colored one is beautiful. :) wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWell they are all pretty pre-eautiful! (Pretty/Beautiful) Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Maybe the peacock not cooperating was a good thing because you got shots like I've never seen before.
ReplyDeletePeacocks are so pretty. Their top knot feathers always remind me of those big fancy hats women used to wear on Easter LOL
ReplyDeleteThe colorful ones are just glorious, but the white ones are striking too. That mixed one is funny!
ReplyDeleteYou need to come to our zoo. I have some nice pics of the peacock fanned out. The pale one is actually pretty cute. He has his own special trait.
ReplyDeletePeacocks are gorgeous and also one of the loudest, most annoying birds ever!! Once I went to a resort in Cancun and they had a peacock who practically sat on my patio and the dang bird was so loud he drove us crazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have some zoo pictures of a pea hen sitting on eggs.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for stopping by my page for Wordless Wednesday last week. You asked about the bait - I trap voles, sometimes called field mice, at my field site. The bait was for them. Prior to that WW post I shared a photo of a vole, my research subject.
Please come back by my blog Urban Science Adventures! and check out those posts, Dissertation on My Mind Photo Essays, and my Urban Wildlife Watch posts, my latest entries were about bats, moles and shrews, and the Osage Orange tree. Plus, I am competing for a Blog Scholarship. I would really appreciate your support.
Thank You very much and have a great day.
The poor things have mohawks! Great pics, Lisa! Somehow I must have gotten on a different A-Z than you because we did Q earlier this week!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the second to last picture! The details and colors just pop!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. I have seen and photographed the tail and have completely missed the beauty of their heads until now. I love that little tuft of feathers on top too. They are truly gorgeous birds.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures, especially the close up head shots.
ReplyDeleteWow! A terrific look at the variety of color combinations on peacock heads. What curious tufted looking feathers between their eyes...
ReplyDeleteLisa, great photos. They don't spread their tails for you, because they don't want to mate, with you. That's not a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, but, between you and me I'm deathly afraid of peacocks (long story). :)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever said, "peecaw," to them? I lived with them for years & that generally will work.
ReplyDeleteVery very pretty
ReplyDeleteNow where did you find those again, huh?
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I was jealous?
Wonderful stuff Lisa!
Who needs the shot of the tail when you've got that BEAUTIFUL head! Your shots are absolutely stunning! What a gorgeous bird!! Great work!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunning.
ReplyDeleteOoo La La, I love the molting peacock! What a gorgeous bird! And I am impressed at how close you got to their face. AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better! *hugs*
How crazy cool! I never knew about those other peacocks either....and they are all so beautiful in different ways. Kinda like us human folk, huh?
ReplyDeleteGreat job (AGAIN)
Absolutely beautiful! Perfect for the A-Z challenge this time around!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing white peacocks in Lisbon in 1966. I've never seen the mottled ones, though.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like the white one. The white and blue one is cool too. They're such pretty birds.
ReplyDeletegorgeous...I have never paid attention to their heads before...thank you for enlightening me!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - but I tell you - that is one deadly looking beak its got.
ReplyDeleteI thought...hmmmmm..... You probably wouldn't want them to fan out there tail...I've always thought that was a mateing ritual!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are soooo pretty!! I love your animal photos!!
Wonderful pictures here too ;--)
ReplyDeleteThe only time I ever see Peacocks spread their tail feathers is when I don't have a camera with me. I didn't know there were white peacocks until earlier this year too ... and I love the 'partly pretty peacock' too!
Hugs and blessings,
They are all so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue!
Great job!!
Hi Lisa, Absolutely wonderful photographs of the Peacocks, thanks for sharing the Albino also..extremely elegant! :)
