As you know, this summer the chipmunks drove me nuts. This one was hilarious! He kept using this branch to access the birdfeeder, then I moved the birdfeeder. Too funny to watch him keep going to the end of the branch, just to turn around and go back. He did is many times, guess he’s a slow learner.
Another chipmunk decided to explore this little birdhouse as a possible home.
They started preparing for winter, stuffing cheeks as full as possible.
These were taken last month (before I got sick), and I haven’t seen a chipmunk in a while, believe it or not, I kinda miss them.
Good thing I have my chipmunk statue.
I just love chipmunks~! They are super cute and adorable....but I understand they can also create a huge mess! My Chloe loves her chipmunks and spends hours and hours just watching them! And chasing them, if I don't get to her fast enough. Fab Pics!!
ReplyDeleteI guess chipmunks and squirrels can be pesty, but on the other hand they're so darn cute and fun to watch! I don't have chipmunks, only squirrels. Do you notice any differences between the two's activity patterns? Great shots, BTW...
ReplyDeleteWe don't have chipmunks in Florida either. Wish we did tho, they're cute little buggers!
ReplyDeleteI don't see chipmunks that much at my house. I see them more when we go to the farm. They are kinda cute.
ReplyDeleteAwww...I see the odd squirrel scampering around, but that's about it. Our area is too built-up for the little guys, I think. My mom lives in a slightly less busy area, and she loves to feed the local wild birds. Thus, squirrels are the bane of her existence, because they keep eating the birdseed right out of the feeder! In the 10+ years my folks have lived in that house, my mom has tried EVERYTHING to keep squirrels away. She finally invested in some sort of fancy birdfeeder that was designed to whirl around and flip away anything heavier than a bird. (It didn't harm the squirrels, it just basically evicted them if they tried to climb on the feeder.) It was a battle of wits!!
ReplyDeletei love watching them, and it sounds like you had plenty to watch. love your photos...esp the one where the lil fellow is in the birdhouse.
ReplyDeleteThey are hilarious! Though not too smart it seems! ;)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
Aw, they are so cute. I am not sure I have ever seen any around here. They look so lovable and fun to cuddle although, I wouldn't actually do that. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI think chipmunks are SO cute but I've been told they're destructive critters. It's nice to look at pics of them and not have to deal with their mess LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat little cuties --- pesky, but cute. I love the last photo where he is in the flower pot and the yellow flowers nearby. That is greeting card mwterial!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
They are so cute. We don't get them in the yard, just in the parks, wonder why? Plenty of squirrels though.
ReplyDeleteAll that adorable over-the-top cuteness is their defense mechanism - to blind humans of chipmunks' pesky nature!
ReplyDeletethose little suckers are fast - great photos!
ReplyDeleteWe have chipmunks that have taken up residence around my house whose sole mission in life appears to be to drive Tonka crazy. Bewteen them and the rabbits, he can get very frustrated. But for some reason he ignores the squirrels (which we have far more of than either of the other forms of rodentia).
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that last shot would be spectacular in B&W. Call it a hunch. It's spectacular in color too, don't misunderstand, but there's something in the tonal quality that makes me want to try desaturating it.
my son would be in heaven if he saw these little guys. he loves chipmunks
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Are they some kind of squirrels ? They look like squirrels to me, and they're absolutely adorable!! I can understand you miss them!
ReplyDeleteI love chipmunks! Man, can they make some noise for little creatures! Cute shots! My fav is the one in the birdhouse!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletethey are so darn cute. I only have squirrels (as far as I know)
ReplyDeleteI saw a little chipmunk at my bird feeder at the office (before they made me take it down because a coworker was allergic to birds.. and then it turned out he had a lung disease and not a feather problem at all !)
I loved the chipmunk pictures. I haven't seen one in years, I miss seeing them. At one park on the oregon coast they would climb right in your lap for food. We had Squirrels that used to try and get in the bird feeder that were a lot of fun to watch too.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
these are wonderful shots! with these photos, i don' think people would want to chase them away from their gardens:)...
ReplyDeleteI love these gorgeous pictures! Do chipmunks hibernate in the winter? I wonder.
ReplyDeletelove it. your pictures always make me smile
ReplyDeleteThey’re very cute little critters. I thoroughly enjoyed your photo story here and hope they return so you can photograph them doing more interesting things for future posts.
ReplyDeleteHope you’re having a lovely Thanksgiving Celebration!

Aren't they adorable!
ReplyDeletewe don't have chipmunk here , only squirrel but they are hard to find too.
