Puffball Macro Monday

Puffballs are popping up everywhere.  This one is about the size of a softball.

This one is bigger than a head, but it looks like a face, don't ya think?  The smaller puff being the nose and maybe the stick is his cigar, lol.

  2. The second puffball is huge! I've not seen or eaten them since I was a young when my father and I went to the woods to dig them and morels to bring home. They were so tasty fried in butter. I hope some of the ones you find are in fact edible.

  15. Hi - thats a serious puff-ball! It seems that you may be moving into autumn. We get similar (but mush smaller!) puffballs on the grass next to the road.

    Thanks for hosting MM.

  16. You could enter these in the county fair and win biggest puffball blue ribbon! I've seen these before but never this large. Your photos are great. Can you imagine running across them in the dark? I'd think major crime scene. :-)
