wildflower
When I realized how short life actually is, how short it can be, I decided to do a little weeding. Life got better, more fulfilling when I got rid of all the obstacles, and yes, some of the obstacles were people. Negative people, or ones full of drama are not the kind I need around me.
The wildflower above is about the size of a dime.

broken
Seems there's always something in the way, at least there's also always a solution.

New Orleans Cemetery Angels
We all know I have this huge infatuation with cemeteries and I was really anxious to check out the ones in New Orleans. I have a lot I want to share but I thought I would start with some of the angels and statues at various graves in two cemeteries.
The day was chilly and the rain kept spitting on us, but we didn't let that stop us. As you can see, there were young angels and old, but the faces all are so gentle.
I really liked finding the beads on Mary, although I'm wondering what she's been up to, lol.

The Big M
I realize I shared the big M, but there was so much more to say! Just look how big it is!
Check out those stairs! Scary, aren't they, but we had this brilliant idea to race up them. See that house below on the right side - that's one big M!
It it the world's biggest M, measuring 241 feet high!
Now let's count those stairs.
The view part way up.
266 steps - woo hoo! We made it!
The view from the top!
Sure is a long way down.
You can go past that top step and have a picnic or walk a trail.
Can't wait to do it again, just wish we lived closer to it.

Color
The only color (other than white/snow and brown/sleeping-trees) I get to see for months on end, are colors we bring home with us. While the white has finally all melted, the brown has not quite given up yet, leaves will come eventually. . .right? Dennis bought me some daffodils during the American Cancer Society's Daffodil days last month. Such a bright, happy color!
This is one of the flowers that was in my Valentine arrangement.
eastern skunk cabbage
Generating enough heat to melt the snow around it, Skunk Cabbage is one of the first spring flowers to bloom. It survives and blooms despite the frigid cold in a Wisconsin winter. Our lives are full of challenges, but we too can thrive even in difficult situations.

Skunk Cabbage is one of the first plants blooming in the spring, often blooming while snow is still on the ground. It grows in swampy/boggy areas as you can see here.
Tiny trinkets
Sometimes I go to work with my husband. He spends longer driving to plants than he does inside the plant so, I ride along and keep him company. When he came out of the plant this time, he had a small brown bag and told me there were three things in it. I couldn't believe it.
When I opened the bag I found a manatee, a bird and a frog (for my mom), each so small - and detailed!
The manatee's belly even looks accurate. :0)

the halo
Circles in the sky make me look for deeper meaning, infinity, cyclical, complete. Going through rounds of chemo helped make whole once more.
