Ephraim Barn
It's funny, for all our times traveling to Door County I had never noticed this barn until this winter. I made Dennis turn around, we parked, and walked out.
The ice on the bay was really cool!
There were names painted all over the barn! I was full of questions. Why? Was this allowed?
The barn is on the National Register of Historic Places - and it's ok to paint on it?!
So, yeah, painting on the barn is allowed. Anderson Warehouse Graffiti - Historically, visiting boaters have "signed" the warehouse walls with their boat's name and the year they docked here.
Will you marry me? YES
Sorry I'm overloading you on photos, but there was so much to see upon the walls and all around.
If you were to sign the wall, what would you paint?

So far of all the signed the last photo showed was the most creative of all 'signatures.'
ReplyDeleteDoesn't seem to be much room left ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd have been in 'subject' overload myself. The barn is really cool, but I really like the ice. Next time, bring a ladder to you can sign the building :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!
ReplyDeleteWow. That's pretty neat - for graffiti! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it all, but the first photo really took me in--how cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. I love how everyone has been so careful to write in the "lines." Even the more creative ones are still neatly done. And the ice on the dock is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool place (yes, in both meanings of the word!) I've seen something similar, at a pier in Las Palmas Marina, Canary Islands which is the starting point for the big convoys of sailing boats that cross the Atlantic each November. Boats are encouraged to leave a "signature", with boat name, home port, dates etc and like this, they are done really well.
ReplyDeleteAs for the ice... you can keep it. I'm over ice and snow for the season.
We adore this barn and stop every fall on our way up to the tip. The Scooter Gang is our favorite. WOW, it does look different in the winter with the frozen pier.
ReplyDeleteSuch an amazing place and the frozen docks is spectacular! Did you sign it?
ReplyDeleteThis is one beautiful barn!
ReplyDeleteCool! I don't think I've seen that barn. I'll have to ask my mom if she has.
ReplyDeleteNice barn. I hope you wrote something.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome graffiti barn. I'm sure it would be fun to read for hours if it wasn't so cold out there. Those frozen water pictures gave me chills!!!
ReplyDeleteI would have hubby stop the car for this too! Excellent and unusual pics. The piles of snow after the graffiti barn in very intriquing!
ReplyDeletewhat did you write on it?
