Practice makes perfect

20121113-162048.jpg

It's been 24 years since I held knitting needles. Back then, I was pregnant with my third child and determined to make him an afghan. I succeeded in teaching myself and he got his afghan lol

While I teach myself the stitches again, (you didn't expect me to remember them this long did you?) I am making my husband a simple scarf. It is my hope to finally teach myself how to make socks. Fingers crossed.

  3. It looks very soft! And the color reminds me of pinecones. :)

  4. I only knit after daylight savings time ends.. and every winter I have to "re-teach" myself to cast on & cast off, & how to do different stitches. It comes back pretty fast, but I'm always hung up for a few minutes. :)
My best knitting project is my favorite winter hat.. other than that, I stick to scarves & simple things.
But my sister made her first pair of socks last year! They took six needles & $30 worth of yarn, but they're beautiful!!
She says after all that work, she doesn't want to wear them out - so she puts them on to watch tv in the evening. :)
