yes it is. I was out birding the other day and a huge great horned flew out of a tree in a manner which surprised me. I've walked past many of them daytime ,,, roosting in a tree and it has never flown out. WELL... moments later the other ladies and I saw the reason. A northern harrier was dive bombing it. I guess the harrier must have been thinking about nesting around -- or maybe it was just being territorial. In any event, the owl kept moving along.. and eventually stopped in a tree and stood its ground.
