When I was a child I would hold dear anything made of rabbit fur. My favorite toy in the whole world for most all of my childhood was a cat made of rabbit fur and I rubbed it on my face for comfort and soothing. This precious bunny looks soft enough I wouldn't mind taking him home.
The zoo we went to a while back had two small areas that you could go into with the animals. The first cage was the bunnies but there were so many I was afraid I'd step on one. In the second cage was a lone tortoise and I tentatively stepped in. However, I had my huge honking lens on and the requirements of that lens is a minimum focusing distance of about 5'.
Well, that was a bit of a challenge in a 10' square pen with a tortoise that kept wanting to touch me. Boy he was fast!
I think he needs some chapstick.
Terrific images! I love bunny fur too, Lisa, but I would have broken out in hives and had a MAJOR asthma attack if I rubbed the fur on my face...
ReplyDeleteTurtles are very interesting creatures aren't they? I'd love to pour oil on his back...along with the chapstick!
These are wonderful. I love the way the light plays on the texture and shape of the turtle. There is a softness in these old fellows that I find endearing. You capture that even as you capture the hardness.
ReplyDeleteGood choices...good pics!
ReplyDeleteAwww! Beautiful photo series. I would like to order 1 soft fluffy bunny and 1 super-speedy tortoise! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI just peed my pants laughing...he needs chapstick! Oh my heavens, you are too funny. Gorgeous pics! I hope that is not the same rabbit as in my road kill image!
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, I do think he needs some chapstick, LOL! It always cracks me up how fast turtles are - that slow thing is such a myth! Great shots Lisa! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat tortoise is pretty cool. Although writing the word "tortoise" makes me want to pronounce it with a french accent, "tort-oise". I still have a rabbit skin that my father gave to me when I was small girl. It's a weird thing to have held on to all these years, but I do like the way it feels.
ReplyDeleteI love the detail on his shell. Turtles are such interesting critters and they always look like they have something wise to say.
ReplyDeleteThat bunny is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the bok you sent me, I just got it in the mail!
Weren't you scared? It looks enormous.
ReplyDeleteYou have to love an animal that knows how to take its time.
ReplyDeletespecial special pictures Sandy
ReplyDeleteI discovered how fast tortoises were in exactly the same situation - the photos you got are great.

it always amazing how quickly turtles and tortoises can move, if they are so inclined. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI loved ALL the photos ... especially the ones of the tortoise. They made me miss the two who lived with us for years.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I'm trying to see his lips.
ReplyDeletesuch wonderful captures, the lighting is superb, and yes I think he needs chapstick also
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable bunny and fascinating tortoise! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteWow, he has a great shell. I love the softness of bunnies. We have a couple bunnies here and they are so soft.
ReplyDeleteVery cute pictures. I liked rabbits when I was little as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, those pictures are amazing!! I love all the layers of color in each spike of the turtle's shell, God's creations are always so wonderful and continue to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteGreat close up shots Lisa. Super detail. You can feel the texture.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I think the turtle is my favorite. Congratulations and the baby above. We have a gitl coming in jan and another in July.

I think you know that I am a cat fan, lol ! We once had a turtle in our garden and she "ran" after my mother's red toesnails she thought they were strawberries which she loved !

ReplyDeleteCool shots. I would love to get some macros of that tortoise!
ReplyDeleteAhahahaha! I'd love to take BOTH of these critters home! A 'fast tortoise'??? Hmmm - isn't that contradicting? hehehe Your photos are absolutely fantastic.
