Snapping distance

My husband, by now, is used to me yelling 'Stop! i gotta grab my camera, there's a _____, pull over.' Poor guy doesn't even flinch anymore.

He quickly slowed down (does that make sense?lol), did a u-turn and pulled off for me. This guy was huge!

He seemed friendly enough though.

I laid in the road, to get on his level, but I stayed out of snapping distance, his snapping distance anyway.

Soft and Hard (Opposites attract?)

When I was a child I would hold dear anything made of rabbit fur. My favorite toy in the whole world for most all of my childhood was a cat made of rabbit fur and I rubbed it on my face for comfort and soothing. This precious bunny looks soft enough I wouldn't mind taking him home.

The zoo we went to a while back had two small areas that you could go into with the animals. The first cage was the bunnies but there were so many I was afraid I'd step on one. In the second cage was a lone tortoise and I tentatively stepped in. However, I had my huge honking lens on and the requirements of that lens is a minimum focusing distance of about 5'.

Well, that was a bit of a challenge in a 10' square pen with a tortoise that kept wanting to touch me. Boy he was fast!

I think he needs some chapstick.

I love his pink tongue!

Maybe these two are fighting over the same patch of grass? Did you know tortoises fight? I didn’t, I just thought they rolled with the flow.

This one is my favorite in the series. He looks like he’s ready to race that rabbit.

I also never knew turtles lifted that high to walk. I guess I thought they just slid their shells along, or maybe I never really thought enough about them.

And another fight breaks out.
