Red-bellied toad, ok, Really he's a fire-bellied toad, but his belly is a pretty Red.
Really close to a Reptile.
While at my parents' I was snapping some photos of a wren – that little wren was chattering like crazy and when I turned around I saw this fellow in the tree behind me. It was getting late enough I had to turn the on camera flash on – I couldn't risk going to get my flash, he might bolt – I thought about editing the eyes, but I want you to see how scary he was and I think the glowing eyes add to the fear.
Check out the Really Rascally Raccoon's fangs – in every photo I took his teeth were showing.
Do you think he had Rabies?
I took this as my clue to leave, I was afraid he was going to jump down on me. Remember the scuffle my mom had with a coon back in May?
Red, Red, Really Raunchy Red hat – Rare to be off of Gage's head.
See more R's over at Martha's.
Great shots:) Happy WW and thanks so much for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a couple of Fire Bellied Frogs. They were so pretty! And that coon, wow, I've never seen one bare teeth before. It appears he had a run in with something too. Great captures though and I am glad no one was injured in the capturing of those photos. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat's either one p.o.-ed raccoon, or he has a serious underbite! I love the composition of the red hat!! Very artistic and really sets the mood, especially knowing how treasured that hat is.
ReplyDeleteWhat was with his nose? He looked like he'd already been in a fight. I"m glad you left. There might have been trouble if you hadn't!
ReplyDeleteGreat R's . I had a pet raccoon as a child, thank goodness he didn't look like that, LOL. Pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteNow that raccoon is really scary!! I'm thinkin' you did the smart thing by leaving!! Looked like he was ready to jump at you!!
ReplyDeletehe looks injured ?
ReplyDeleteor what is wrong with his/her nose?
yes. I wouldn't get close to him. I've never seen a snarly one like that.
Never had the "pleasure" of seeing a snarling racoon...I'm guessing he was scared as hell or was rabid. Or maybe they're starting to take over the world. I know someone whose little dog was out in the back yard at dusk and it got grabbed up and carried off by a racoon. Happy ending...just minor cuts and some emotional damage... but very scary moment or two.
ReplyDeletethat raccoon looks pretty dang banged up!
ReplyDeleteGreat series of R's - but boy, that coon sure does look scary! I'm glad you didn't stick around!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you left the raccoon when you did, those teeth were scary looking! Wonderful set of photos for the R challenge.
ReplyDeleteMonica
