I think this ring-billed gull wants to go home with me.
Or, maybe not. What do you think he’s saying?
Is that so?
Boy, he’s almost as loquacious as I am! Too bad I don’t speak 'gull'.
One more yell, then. . .
He turned and walked away.

Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and tell me about it. Words, no words, it's up to you.
I think he's saying, "What's the matter with you people? Drop me a French fry, will you? This bird is hungry!"
ReplyDeleteHeehee...Sandy might be right! I thought I saw a come-hither look in the first couple of pics. Beautiful as usual, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteQuite the talker indeed! Your sequence of shots was not only remarkable, but quite entertaining. I've decided to put up a "macro" post tomorrow. Some that I had thought would be good I had posted already on Spatter...and while probably nobody would remember them...I try not to repeat. I did find one though. Looks like I have to get busy with some new shots. :-)
ReplyDeletethese are good! i think he might be saying....ok...enough already you with the camera!!! hmph! can't even go out for a sunday stroll in peace these days. lol
ReplyDeleteHey I thought I saw this guy on the Jersey beach just the other day! Boy, he gets around.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots as usual.

ReplyDeletemarvelous !!! how could you get that close ? I love seagulls and tried to take a macro picture, but they moved too much or just went away. I really like your photos !
ReplyDeleteI think he is asking you to make sure your taking photo of his good side. That was a very cute presentation. Very entertaining!
ReplyDeleteHe really talked to you! and even posed for you ! beautiful bird and great shots. I am participating for the first time :)

Aww..good job. I just love the one with him head on, quacking at our face...lol~
ReplyDeleteSo crystal clear too.
Nancy
Haha, funny. I think he was yelling at your for taking his photo... but no food!! He seemed pretty irritated that you were bread-less and snapping his photo anyway... maybe he wanted the rights to his picture. Then he could make some $$$ and buy his own bread! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!!

My Macro Monday is here
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful birdie! These photos belong in National geographic! My favorite one is the one where he looks like hes squawking! I am going to join MM very soon. I just need to reorganize a little bit!
ReplyDeleteIzzy 'N Emmy gave you an AWARD. Check It Out!
Hi, now here I found a really interesting blog. And what a pictures. The place will be in my favourites. I think my camera critters can match to that meme? Or not? Anyhow, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYep, I think he wanted to go home with you! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI play this week too!
I'm not sure you'd want to know what he was saying - it looks like he was giving you an earful about something! LOL
ReplyDeleteMaybe he felt he should be paid with food if you were going to use him as a model. Or maybe he was telling you that you were invading his personal space LOL
Great shots and I love that we now get to wonder what he was thinking!
Hi Lisa, I played but am not signing Linky. I love the shot with his mouth fully open to you. It reminds of male birds trying to attract the girls with their pretty displays. Maybe that is what he wanted from you. ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh, he's so cute! He is saying, "Look at me, Lisa. I can rock this shot."
ReplyDeletehe wants to be sure you get his good side!!!
ReplyDeleteIts pretty obvious that he's saying " Yo Lisa !! Stop the Madness and get me a Taxi with The King of New York Hacks!!" ....well at leas thats what my gull-lip reading skills told me.
ReplyDeleteSo many participants this week!!
ReplyDeleteBoy that bird looks mad!
I will be joining in again next week Lisa, had a bit of a busy week!
I used to have such encounters with gulls before I got Molly, but somehow they head the other way now when we come near. I enjoyed your fun series of photos with commentary ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
