One of my favorite flowers are Strawflowers (Bracteantha brateata). I actually only discovered them a couple of summers ago. I had a hanging basket full of yellow blooms all that summer.
So this spring I looked for some seeds when I went to plant. I found some and these are what grew from those tee tiny seeds.
I’m always amazed at how they feel like dried flowers even while freshly blooming.
These are such beautiful flowers. Can you believe I've NEVER even heard of Strawflowers before? WOW!
ReplyDeleteWow those are some crazycool flowers!!! And beautiful pictures too!!

Those are stunning flowers! Since moving back to the midwest I'm finding that now some of my favorite flowers are actually fall bloomers! The Arizona desert doesn't have autumn, not like this!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are really pretty and I won't even try to pronounce their "other" name. I think it's great that you knew it AND posted it. I like the lighter orange ones the best. So beautiful! *hugs*

I have to learn how to put another page on my blog with the bling on it....I lost all of it when I switched computers. Now I have to recreate it...But THANKS Lisa!!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! Ands so is your photography. They look a little like a flower we have here in Australia called a paper-daisy. I don't know their other name. I wonder if they're related.
ReplyDeleteWow...gorgeous flowers. I can't grow anything, except for a Lucky Bamboo that I kept alive for a couple of years. Happy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteHmm... I wonder if they would grow down here in Florida? Might have to pick some seeds up too.
