Fall is definitely falling all around me but I hope you don’t mind if I just hold onto summer a little longer.
I grew these from seed (and my son swears my thumb is brown since I killed a cactus), but I have no clue what they are.
I love the lines in the petals and the touch of blue in the centers.
Don’t you?
I can get lost in there. Notice that little bulb in the center, covered with many tiny balls?
A few days later and a sunnier day, that center dealy (technical I know) has sprotted nice frillies!
Nature is mystifyingly magical!
If you’d like to join in Macro Monday please let me know in the comments. The more the merrier. . .
Oo La La! Those are fabulous! I especially love the progression between balls and frilly's! Haha! Nice capture!
ReplyDeleteI only start with Macro shots, and think you are a very good teacher ! the flower looks so sharp ! it's really beautiful !
ReplyDeleteNice photos and very detail.. I think the name of the flower is Lavatera (???)
ReplyDeleteThis flower looks a bit like my hollyhock. I did the same with this hollyhock flower, but not now. Your series is perfect! Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteKeep those summer flowers comin'.....this series of photos is stunning!!! Absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI'm playing again this week, it's an excellent opportunity to practise for me!
Maybe mine are more close-ups than real macro's I don't know?
Anyhow, I enjoyed playing again this week!
Pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Lisa. Anytime I try to photograph anything that close, it ends up all blurry. And I do have a decent camera, so I think it must be *cough* operator error. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletei was playing macro monday all alone with no idea that you were playing first.
ReplyDeleteWow! These are gorgeous too! I wish that I was a good enough photographer to participate in your "macro" photography meme, but I'm not near there yet! I certainly am yearning to learn more now, maybe I'll get there some day! I'm so glad I found your blog, I'll be checking back to see all of your photos! Wow!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous. The third shot is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSo appropriate that you're posting PINK today.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
P.S. Please make sure that Donna and Marilyn's "honors" are OK. Let me know if something needs to be changed.

ReplyDeleteTHOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pink is a very appropriate color for this month! I love the pink pollen! I would like to join in on Macro Monday! I can learn a lot from you and others, and it gives me encouragement to get out there and use my new Canon macro lens. Let me see what I can get posted today, otherwise I'll have something for next Monday.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to hang on to summer as long as you can! I loved this series of beautiful pink flowers … and especially enjoy your commentary … allowing ME to see the mystifyingly magical aspects of nature right along with you.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Oh, my goodness - TOTALLY gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTell me more about Macro Monday! Do we follow your theme "pink magic" or just any macro shot on Monday? Also, is just a close up ok since I don't have an actual macro lens?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos by the way! :-)
ReplyDeleteI played too (and I copied you with a pink flower!)
ReplyDeleteHere it is...http://meandering-martha.blogspot.com/2008/10/macro-monday.html
Hey Great shot! I believe you have a Malva there, it is a relative of the Hollyhock, I am not sure which Malva you photographed it is either 'Mystic Merlin' or 'Braveheart' ..it really doesn't matter it is a beautiful flower:)
ReplyDeleteI love the flower shots, my favorite thing to do close up of.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, you certainly captured the color well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful closeups. I'll try to join in...Ü
