Friday Find Quilt Blocks
I saw tons of potential in piles of quilt blocks already cut and ready to create with. Picked them all up for $3!! After a little figuring I found a way to make them work for a king sized quilt top. I am having to remeasure the squares as they range from 6"-6.25".
I thought of this nice lap quilt Jan made me and used it for inspiration. I played around with my fabrics a bit until I found the way I wanted to assemble them.
I decided to go with triangles and rectangles, set various ways. I think it will be quite exciting to see come together. Come on, it's not everyday you can make a quilt top for $3! :)

So cute! For now
Scared up a mama mouse and her wee ones. She is adorable, as are her babies but I don't want them in my house.

Cabbage rolls
Went out to the garden this morning to see what I could find.
Made up some cabbage rolls and put them in the slow cooker.
Boy they are smelling goooooooood!

In a Pickle Macro Monday
Any idea what I've been up to lately? Yes, I have spent some time canning, making pickles and jam - my first attempt - so far, so good.
Check out the size of some of my cucumbers and squash! I pickled some squash too, tastes just like a pickle, lol. Any problem using this type of squash in the place of zucchini for some bread?

Friday Find Coffee Table
I loved this instantly! Will fit perfectly in our living room. :) But, it needs a little work. :) Picked it up for $5. Took this photo right after washing it down, it was pretty dirty.
I painted the legs white, then teal, then roughed them up. Picture was taken before I took sandpaper to them. The top I just put a stain on after beating it up a bit more.

Waking up
After a night of this at the Namekagen Campground in the Chequamegon National Forest (pronounced Sh-wa-mi-gun more or less).
We enjoyed a morning of this.
The night before we had spent time on the dock watching the meteor shower.

Peekaboo Macro Monday
Is it any wonder my windows stay dirty? She's on the window directly above my sewing machine. I guess she wanted to see the quilt I was working on.

Friday Find Stool
This little stool fits into country life perfectly. It is sturdy, no wobble at all - I like the peeling paint so have decided to just clear coat it. I picked it up for 50 cents! :)

Central Wisconsin
I love that I live in an area where, not only do many people leave their homes unlocked, a dad yelling at his daughter makes the news, but people leaves keys in the ignition on the WalMart parking lot. Many times in the winter cars are left running unattended.
When I came back out, next to my car, was a cell phone left in a holder. Sorry the photo isn't very good. I love my small town!

Sunflower Macro Monday
I love sunflowers! I let the birds plant a few in various planters, I also let them eat the seeds. :0)

Friday Find - Where do I put my gum?
This vintage kitty spot to park your gum was just too irresistible, it came home with me for $1.50. I just googled it and found them anywhere from $9 to $28, I don't know if they're selling but I bought it just because it was unique to me anyway.
My Survivor Tattoo is growing
With moving and, well just life, I'm a little late adding to my survivor tattoo. I should have added butterfly #6 in May, but better late than never, lol. For those of you who are new, or may have forgotten, the chinese symbol means "to live" or "to survive", then I'm adding a butterfly each year.
Butterfly #5 has a 5 in it (Thanx again Leeanne for designing it!), it's also bigger than the rest because I was given about a 20% chance of living to see that butterfly, so I really celebrated, lol. However #5 seemed to be out there dangling alone, so we took care of that this year. We added a lazy path which I think really helps him connect more. I have the path made out of semicolons ; because I'm a semicolon, lol. :)
I decided to turn my survivor tattoo into a travel bug on geocaching.com so we added the tracking code for that.
Tada - butterfly #6, pooping out star #9 - the stars represent how many years Dennis and I have been married. :) This butterfly is back to the smaller size - he's a smidge bigger than my pinkie nail. They all look a little messy right now, they're really fresh. :)

Macro Monday - Goldfinch
I love having the windowbox feeder and watching the birds so closely. :)
I think they enjoy watching me too, lol.

Friday Find - Bunny Butt
I believe this is an antique bathroom set. There's the toothbrush holder, the swan towel holder, the soap dish, and. . .
. . .the bunny cotton ball holder, lol. I laughed so when I saw the bunny butt that I had to spend the $1.50 to purchase the set, just for the laugh. I really have no idea how much the set is worth, if it's even worth anything, but it brought a smile to me and I thought it might you too.
