But I won’t be helping with the application of said lotion.

This is the first time I've tried to Mr Linky ahead of time, and we are on vacation and away from the computers a bit.  So if Mr Linky does not work, please leave your links in comments and visit each other that way.  Fingers crossed that he works though.

Going on Vacation

Gone on vacation - be back May 31st. I will be updating on Facebook daily (as I have reception that is), so be sure and friend me there if you haven't already.  I'll miss you guys!

For the last few years we’ve had a pretty crystal, we bought in Door County over our third anniversary, hanging from our rearview mirror. But when we saw this heart dangly I just had to have it.

Seemed a good time to share since we’re coming up on our 6th anniversary in a few days.

Unknown and forgotten

Sorry for missing last week guys! And just a heads up that I will miss the next two weeks while we’re on vacation but I’ll see you again in June.

While traveling some back roads near Milwaukee we discovered a Pauper’s Cemetery. Most of the people buried here were unknown and most of the stones are simply blank. The one above reads, “Unknown Male Infant”

See, blank. I found it very sad that there were so many unknown peoples, but grateful that they were at least buried and given a marker. Near our home is a poor people’s cemetery with only one stone. A stone that explains what the cemetery is and no names or markers for where the graves actually are.

I did find a few markers with words.

And right next to unknown white lies unknown colored - men or women I do not know.

Photo Shoot fun

Unbeknownst to me Dennis snapped this photo of me taking a photo. That is the 70-200mm lens, but it is the same size as my 100-400mm that it generally on my camera. So you're seeing what I carry pretty much all the time, hiking, etc. The set up is about 8 lbs if I remember correctly.

So do you wonder what I was shooting?

I was shooting reflections of Sheila on Rich's sunglasses and trying to keep myself out of the shot. The little footbridge worked pretty good for it.

Dennis isn't the only who gets sneaky with the camera. ;)

1 week from today we will be on the road!  Busy, busy, busy - I just know I will forget something.  But I am checking things off my to-do-list daily.

A Gummy Macro Monday

My parents sent me this gum. I had never heard of Coffee Flavored Gum and was mildly curious. Apparently, Dennis was excessively curious as he ate what you see missing, in one setting - I shouldn’t be surprised, he does drink Espresso. . .maybe he thought chewing so many at once would be as refreshing as a huge cup of Espresso?

Me? Well I had to photograph before I could try. I did try this brown piece of gum - isn’t that what you usually find on the bottom of tables? It tasted. . .well interesting. I spit it out within a few minutes - guess it’s just not my thing.

Sorry I’m later getting this up, I was whisked away suddenly to go see ‘Star Trek’. I must say it was better than I expected - this from a non-Trekkie, but someone who did watch as a child. If you’ve never seen an episode of Star Trek I don’t think you would enjoy it as much as you would miss much of the comedy of it. That’s all I’ll see.

Finally on time

It has been an awesomely chaotic week!  The rummage sale did great and I think I might be able to get caught up soon.  I managed to get my Mother's Day cards made and mailed and to my mom and grandma in time!  Score one for me - how rare, usually things end up being late because I always think I have all of this time that ends up running out much more quickly than I expect it to.  But I wanted to make sure I popped on to say to all of you:
