Sanderling, at least I think that's what he is. I love his reflection in the water too.
A Laughing Gull laughing at me. lol
Yellowlegs or Willet? I'm really bad at identifying these birds.
I loved chasing bigger birds with my lens while in Florida. The challenge of Wisconsin bird is that most of the ones I see are small and they're very flighty.

But, as you can see, this gull seemed as intrigued with me as I was with him. Now I suppose he could be a juvenile Herring Gull, but due to the time of year, I'm assuming this is a Ring-Billed Gull in his winter plumage.
BEAUTIFUL birds! That looks like it was such a peaceful day.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. The gulls seem to ham it up. I like the little guy looking at his reflection.
ReplyDeleteThese are all fantastic, Lisa! I really like the one of the bird flying away, and the gull with the ruffled feathers. I really love it when I can get close to birds - especially the bigger ones - and find that I will not leave before the bird does. It gets time consuming! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I should have a Florida friend look at these--he really knows his birds!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics...LOVE the reflection shot!
ReplyDeleteThat reflection truly is lovely. That's good enough to be a greeting card or poster.
ReplyDeletewonderful to see these watery birds. I love how much detail you have captured.
ReplyDeleteWonderful detail in the last two shots - he was posing for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat bird shots. Seems like ocean birds are more fun to catch...maybe it is the size.
ReplyDeleteHey the ruffled feather shot is cool. My 4 year old thinks so too. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love his reflection too. this has to be my favorite shot. the crossing of his legs into his shadow and into his reflection is all so perfect.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous macro! The bird is so beautiful..
ReplyDeleteLook at the detail you captured!
ReplyDeletewonderful photos of all the birds, they're good looking birds, we only seem to have the big ugly aggressive gulls here...hmm, reminds me of some of the people lol. maybe i just haven't looked enough as i've just started photographing, and seeing things i didn't used to.
ReplyDeletelove the wind ruffling in the feathers
ReplyDeleteI don't know what those big fat gulls are either, but they don't seem to be as shy as some of the others. I love the opening shot of the reflected whatever-it-is. And once again your bird shots are as incredible as ever.
ReplyDeleteNifty bird series! Love the reflection in the first, the one with the bird taking flight and the ruffled feathers especially. I need a better lens or more patience ... seriously!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
