I like crabs as long as I know where they are, not so sure of them when I stumble upon them though.
This one didn't bother me at all, but this isn't exactly how I found it though.
Yep, this is how I found it. Haden turned it over for me. lol
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
How do you do this and not get your camera wet? I am such a klutz that I know for sure I would lean over and slip and fall!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are great. I would need Haden to flip it over for me too.
Great macros, like always. The beach is a great source of photo subjects but these don't look very friendly.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that crab looks creepy! But the detail of patterns on it comes up so well in macro!
ReplyDeleteVery cool..you are fabulous at macros..an inspiration! Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKiki~
He's a big one!! Such clear photos ... if I saw a crab like this, I'd probably scream.
ReplyDeleteNow that's up close and personal Lisa. I'd be counting my piggies if I were you. I like the reflections too. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteSuper detail on this creature Lisa. Good job.
ReplyDeleteB.
Wonderful macro shot.
ReplyDeleteIt seems those poor little dudes are always at somebody's mercy. And they try so hard to look so tough!
ReplyDeleteI like crabs too, as long as they are on the crab and cooked! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm sure glad Hadon turned him over. Great series of shots, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteThat first one in the water looks like I could reach and touch him - I wouldn't want to. I would have lost the shot had he started to move if I'd been you.
ReplyDeleteThe underside has such detail too.
Awesome Lisa!
From so close they look as critters out of a science fiction movie ! I bed those who do the movies are inspired by macros of insects and seaworld !
ReplyDeleteIsn't he a handsome fella?
ReplyDeleteAren't crabs just the most incredible creatures? And such colour patterns too.
ReplyDeleteI love your seashore macros! I'm a long way from the shore right now and the nearest bit is just mud anyway, but I do miss it.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at Kath, your first commenter. I once did ruin a beautiful and expensive camera (a Contax SLR) when we were in New Zealand. I was so concentrating on my shot, wading out into the sea for a good view, when a wave came up and wobbled me, I staggered, dropped the camera and .. while it didn't actually go into the sea (it was on the neck strap), it got badly splashed and was never the same again. It still works, but only sometimes. LOL!
I'm not sure if I would dare touching him either, I think I'd use a shell to turn him around. On the other hand, he IS really very small isn't he?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I love the color in your photos...
ReplyDeleteThese are great shots! I'd be a little leery of him too I think. I tried to go to the beach here yesterday, but it was still pretty much covered in snow. :)
ReplyDeleteThe underside of that crab is great love all those little details Lisa.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in the last one - I'm sure you're glad you didn't have to turn it over yourself - your crab is certainly not camera shy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little pinchy! I love him! One of these days I'm going to get organized and join you for Macro Monday. One of these days.... ;o)

ReplyDeleteLisa you photos are clear and lively. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for posting macro day!
ReplyDeleteI grew up close to the beach! Love crabs and I am surprised this guy stayed and posed for you. They are usually very quick, darting this way and that!
ReplyDeleteAh ... how good to have a bit of help from your little guy! Wonderful photos as always.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,

ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteYeah for Haden. That's my boy, save the crab! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Sharp focus, great depth of field, awesome colors and reflections. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with snakes - I'm fascinated if I see them from a bit of a distance, but I hate serpentine surprises.
Excellent shots! It stinks that you came to Florida in the middle of the coldest winter I ever remember us having. Come back soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteNever seen a crab with this coloring. The ones we have up here are variants of the Blue Crabs you find in Chesapeake Bay. And I've often wondered how you manage to get these tight shots in the surf/tide without getting your camera wet too. Care to share that secret?? LOVE the first shot!
