Striking

Yep, I confess, these are photos left over from Veteran's Day. I discovered them in a folder and was surprised I had forgotten to share them.

We paid a small fee to go up in the bell tower too, Very cool! I don't remember how many bells there are but there's a lot. And these bells can be played!

There's a special room near the top where people go to play the bells, or learn to play them. This tower is one of just a few around.

  1. The first shot with all the flags...so, so mesmerizing for me to see those rows of flags...and think about all the people who help to protect our country...both those who have died and those living. Heroes....

  2. I like the details of the bells and the whole look of them as they hang. Ofcourse all the flags look majestic.
These photos should fit perfect to the Swedish challenge with the theme striped this week so why not join?
Details in my post for that challenge.

  11. The first shot had me riveted. But I think the one that really did it for me was the one with the B&W photo attached. Awesome series Lisa!

  15. This came up in your linked within, and I didn't want to miss it, so I went here first, instead of the page I intended to comment on (and will go back there in a minute...). I was so drawn by the flag thumbnail that I had to see the rest of the photos. I saw a display similar once called the Healing Fields, and it had a flag for every person lost on 9/11. I love this one with the yellow ribbons. It tugs on a very special place in my heart.
