Do you see what I see? Yes, it's a piece of popcorn, but what else is it?
Did you say, 'frog'? Well that's what my aunt saw while eating her bowl of popcorn years ago. SO she promptly wrapped a piece of popcorn in tissue paper, boxed it up and sent it from Texas to Missouri to my mother (her sister). My mother loves frogs of all kinds so this piece of popcorn has been sitting in her china cabinet for many years now. It looks freshly popped doesn't it?
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
THANK YOU to each one of you for playing along! I love seeing what you come up with each week!
Very cool photo. Hope your vacation is going well.
ReplyDeleteLovely macro..yum! Gorgeous backdrop!
ReplyDeleteAnother series of neat macros Lisa. Popcorn kernels have a way of getting stuck between my teeth, but there's nothing quite like real popcorn (not the microwave stuff). I can smell it now.
ReplyDeleteI never saw a frog, but I did the greatest trick ever when I was a kid. We were on vacation at the Jersey shore and it was a rainy day. I caught a few toads and though it would be great fun to put them in an empty Cheerios box. You should have seen the look on my sister's face when toads hopped into her bowl instead of cereal.
Smack me if I told this story before, but it was so much fun...
The popcorn is funny! And even funnier that it's years old and has been on display in your mother's cabinet! That's just the sort of thing I'd do. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow, that corn has really held up well! I saw some painted one time. They were fabulous!
ReplyDeleteB.
That is too cute! I really can see a frog- with eggs for eyes. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of potato chips I've had for years. One has a cross in the center.
That sounds SO much like something my aunt Peggy would have done. And it does look amazingly fresh. I can see the frog, but I was going to guess Jar-Jar Binks.
ReplyDeleteI was so going to be first with this one, but MckLinky wasn't ready to go when I was and then I got sidetracked.........
ReplyDeleteLove the frog!
It does resembled a frog but I'm more surprise it lasted years! Look so fresh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story about an antique popcorn, lol ! But really even if I turn my screen upside down, I don't see a frog (not even a cat, lol)
ReplyDeleteWow! Perfect Popcorn! It certainly does preserve well, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteVery cute...it's a frog!
ReplyDeleteYou know, of course, that as soon as I finish commenting here I am going to have to go pop some popcorn. I can almost smell the butter melting. Very tasty!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that it's lasted so long! Wow. Great shot - thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteWhat a photo and what a story to go with it!
ReplyDeleteIf you say it's a frog, okaaay . . . Me, I woulda eaten it. Fun story!
ReplyDeleteMost def. a frog!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that?
:D
that is so cute!
ReplyDeleteReally nice and cool!
ReplyDeleteCheers and regards.
That popcorn shape is just incredible! I am amazed that it has lasted for so long intact!
ReplyDeleteCool shots Lisa! Wishing you a supergreat vacation!
ReplyDeleteI can´t really "see" it, but with a lot of imagination.....maybe. :)
ReplyDeleteVery funny though! :)
Lovely and a perfect macro=)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like a little playing puppy :)
ReplyDeleteFunny... what I saw first off was two baby birds in a nest squawking to be fed. But once you said frog I could see that too. You could probably sell this on eBay for hundreds, ya know? It'd go perfectly in the collection with the Abe Lincoln french fry and the glow in the dark Jesus night light. Or something.
ReplyDeleteI always knew that stuff was indestructible. Last things on earth will be the cockroaches, and they'll be living on popcorn.
Great "thing" looks remarkable fresh for it's age :-)
ReplyDeletehaha...that is such fun--a popcorn frog! I've not make popcorn in ages... wonder what shapes or likenesses I'll get?! Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of this tiny popcorn. My camera wouldn't be able to do this!
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like a frog. And I am surprise that it still looks fresh even after many years. :)
ReplyDeleteCool ones, Lisa
ReplyDeleteNo way!! That is some well preserved popcorn.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I forgot to submit my link? My mind is still on holiday! I hope you're having as much fun as I had!!
ReplyDeleteYour aunt has a very vivid imagination, it's very hard to see a frog in this, but I loved the story!
love how the orange background makes that corn "pop"
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much it would go for in e-Bay; it can be listed right next to the potato chip that looks like the Virgin Mary.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a frog! How funny that you have been able to keep it for this long!
ReplyDeletewhat an imagination you have...that does look like a frog. so cool.
ReplyDeleteWow, too funny! I want to know just how many years "many years" is! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny!!! It does look fresh popped!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet that your Mom kept the popcorn for soooooo long!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo but honestly I didn't see a frog.
Very nice! I like that you've created two things from one. That's what I call creative. ;-) My first visit, so I will be checking back. HMM
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes I saw it!
ReplyDeleteI finallyi saw the frog. My eyes kept "thinking" it was seeing a poodle giving us the moon.
ReplyDeleteI had to go back and look again since I just saw popcorn. Makes you think outside the box. hee hee
ReplyDeleteare you serious? it's been sitting on a cabinet for years?? um.... i don't know what to say about that. lol. but yes, it does sorta, maybe look like a frog. (My husband's uncle collects frogs too)
