Last time we were in Chicago we went to the Shedd Aquarium. It was my first visit there and I totally enjoyed it, although I think I need more practice shooting photos through aquariums in low light, without flash. Oh well.
This guy was staying so still you could almost miss him.
He's available in black too, lol. He was very still also.
I was in awe of the sharks! They were in very low light. :(
Shark eggs. My guess is these are fake eggs, but I got pulled away before I could read more than the title on the window.
There is a critter in this photo. The stripey thing at the bottom is some kind of eel, or maybe worm. . .
The eggs look really cool! Great photos.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I would love to visit a place like this!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I gave you special thanks and credit at my blog today. You helped me with something, and you didn't even know it! LOL
Cool critters, the guy in the third photo is a strange looking fish. Nice visit to the aquirium.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I liked the lumpy looking little yellow fish best.
ReplyDeletewhata forlorn look on #3 sandy
ReplyDeleteThese are nice variety of sea critters.
ReplyDeleteMy first time joining this meme, hope you can take a peek on my first CC entry. Have a great weekend!
I love the Shedd aquarium and have been a few times. I found that the hardest part of getting good shots was all of the people. :) They made me feel rushed.
ReplyDeletevery cool and colorful
ReplyDeleteSuch interesting critters!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!
I played too :)
I've been to Chicago numerous times, but not to the Shedd. Shame on me! These shots make me want to visit. Thanks so much. Happy New Year!

These are amazing. Aquariums are so tough to shoot!
ReplyDeleteI love visiting aquariums and your photos are WONDERFUL to me. Mine never turn out nearly as well. I especially enjoyed the rays of sunlight on the shark ... just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Great "fishy" shots!! You did a great job with them.....I never get anything close to as good as these!
ReplyDeleteLovely catch Lisa. Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteCool critters and great shots as always! I've probably already said it but HAPPY NEW YEAR! :-)
ReplyDeleteI've yet to try aquarium shots, my camera is not even a DSLR, so I know it's limitations in taking low light photography but I want to give it a shot. Hopefully I get a chance to go to the Underwater World we have here soon. I just love your photos here.
ReplyDeleteawesome! wishing you all the best in 2010! mine is up. see yah.
ReplyDeleteWe visited the aquarium too, but I don't think my pictures came out very well!
ReplyDeleteYours are perfect, as always!
ReplyDeleteOne can find some weird fishys in those aquariums, no? :D

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! The fish on the third photo is ... unexplainable ... I've never seen such a creature :-) Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI think it is so hard to shoot at an aquarium but you did amazing (as always). Love them!
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots and YES it is difficult taking photos through the aquarium glass.
ReplyDeletefor a girl that don't get out much...WOW!! awesome photos and what a neat place!!Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous critters!!!
ReplyDeleteYour shots through the glass are awesome! That's so hard to acomplish.
ReplyDeleteAquarium shots are tough. And it's debatable whether they're tougher with or without flash. Both have their challenges. But I love the second one -- can't tell if you're looking up or down! And the shark with the shaft of light in background is just plain awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think these are really well done. You capture the mystery of the deep, to be sure.
