A coy sparrow
The white-breasted nuthatches stay all summer, but the red-breasted are back now too.
We have a plethora of chickadees tour our yard daily, but a few have gotten zany, hoping over the plastic divider and into the seed! They often hop back out the other side. lol
We have several woodpeckers visit daily. This one was not in our yard, but you'll be seeing one of them soon.
And this dark-eyed junco is not in our yard but many are - they just don't cooperate as well in my yard.
The chipmunks are gathering for the upcoming winter. Their puffy cheeks always make me giggle. The squirrels are driving me crazy getting into the seed too! All except one, Pixel (the flying squirrel) has been making appearance again - I'm hoping she'll move back into the birdhouse for the winter.
I have not seen turkeys in our yard but I often see them a few blocks away from our house.
Ohhh that chipmunk is so cute! You have lots of animals coming to your yard, eh Lisa......and those turkeys, are they the wild ones? I've never seen a life turkey before.....only seen them at the supermarket, all cleaned up and dead!!! lol
ReplyDeleteThis post really makes me miss my old house in Atlanta. It's so entertaining to watch the animals in the yard. I hope the next place we live has enough space for a birdhouse, at least.
ReplyDeleteI love the chipmunk picture, he looks straight out of a cartoon!!
ReplyDeleteThat chipmunk is hysterical!
ReplyDeleteIf you managed to sneak up on wild turkeys, you are gooood. The closest I've ever come to getting a shot of them was a shot of where they just were. (I swear!)
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your yard birds! And Chippy is so cute!! I just want to SQUEEEEZE those little cheeks :)
ReplyDeleteHOW do you catch these birds on camera!!?? So many times I´ve wanted to photograph little birds, but they keep flying away, as soon as I make a step in their direction! You must have some lens! Awesome pic´s!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely visitors you have! Wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shot! I didn't know even a sparrow could look so beautiful through the eyes of another. Chipmunks are busy gathering food. They gave up on their singing career? Time for Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas songs. ;)
ReplyDeletewonderful shots. Love the birds and love getting shots of them. I wish we had the flying squirrels.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to shoot one of those babies for Thanksgiving ;0) Just joking! I have been neglecting my feeders and have to get back in the groove again. Great pics...love the chipmunk!
ReplyDeletefine feathered friends. I have a little something for you today.
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa what amazing shots..the chipmuck was just too cute!! Wow!! Sorry I missed Monday..it has been a rough week! Will be back next week. Namaste, Sarah
ReplyDeleteWoa! Great yard. Love the nuthatch and the turkeys. Looks like you have a sanctuary for birds there.
ReplyDeleteI think you are so lucky to have this array of wildlife in your backyard (even if the wild turkeys are a few blocks away). I <3 that shot of the chipmunk!
ReplyDeletethose turkeys are cute; hope they pay a visit to your house some time soon!
ReplyDeleteyou sure get some nice visitors
