we had my dad's headstone laser etched. If you can draw it, it can be etched. I'm sure you could find someone to draw a 3d camera for you. We commissioned an artist to design my dad's.
Not sure what I think about this. My first thought was "you can't take it with you" but then I thought that "the monuments are for those who are left behind", right? Perhaps how they want to be remembered? Some of those mojo had in the link were completely 'scary'!
At the cemetery where my parents are buried, there are eternal lights, and hanging baskets and lots of junk. Sometimes it looks very cluttered. I drive by it everyday (as I live less than a mile from there), and feel bad that I don't stop by everyday - but I know they aren't there anymore ... so not to be callous, what is the point?
Maybe what we did for my parents was over the top too. Their stone is very simple. Their names on either side, two joined wedding bands in the center with the year of their wedding. Then at the bottom the word "mizpah' representing the prayer we always said as a family - "May the Lord watch between me and thee, while we are absent one from the other" Even just that was expensive - I can't imagine some of these others!
Well......never saw anything like that before!! Pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. What did that mean?
ReplyDelete"He died for his camera?" :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't see a camera among them, but you'd be amazed at the markers some people have created.

Hmm... turning your SLR into an urn... I sense a potential business opportunity here.
The image taken will be stone cast! ;)

ReplyDeleteCool, I'd like to see the marker sculpted into a camera.
ReplyDeleteWell, now I think I've seen it all!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteWell that's definitley different. Although I guess if you lived by your camera, appropriate. :)
ReplyDeleteDid it mean anything ???

My goodness, I have never seen a headstone with a camera. What a find!

ReplyDeleteWell, cool! If I were going to have a grave marked I would want a camera, a flower, dogs and cats :).
