Vacation Macro Monday

I am enjoying some much needed warmth along the gulf coast this week. I have had a couple of people interested in taking Macro Monday over but nothing is all set yet. I will try to finish that up when I get back from vacation. Hope you all are enjoying some warmth too.

My precious little grandson has brown eyes so deep they pull you in.  I wonder what color of eyes their little baby sister will have when she's born next month. . .

PS - There's nothing wrong with the tree.  They are getting ready to add shoulder to the road and moving the power lines.  The electric company is taking the life of this beautiful tree.

The Prius has a little more privacy in it now.  We got the windows tinted today. :)  Ready for Florida.

Macro Monday

 

These sure didn't turn out as good as I had hoped.  I guess that's what I get for being too lazy to get out the big camera.  These are iPhone photos.  I wanted to share the wonderful ice and snow we got this week.  Winter is really hang onto us here in central Wisconsin. :(



 

The branches were full of ice, and ice dangled from the tire swing.  At one point a few days later the ice all spontaneously left the trees - it was very loud!

Macro Monday Tiny Flowers

While playing in the yard with the grandkids last weekend I noticed these really tiny flowers throughout the yard. So pretty! But you had to look very close to notice them.





Someday, flowers will come back to Wisconsin. . .

What do ducks eat?

 

Back when I was eagle watching in Red Wing (click here to see), I discovered something about ducks.  Because these photos aren't that great I haven't wanted to share them, but I really want to know if I'm the only clueless one.  We all know that eagles eat fish (as seen close up in that previous post), but did you know ducks do too?



 

Am I the only who thought they were eating plants and algae when they went tail feathers up in water?



 

Ducks are omnivores!  Who knew?
