Sunset from the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway
After our time in the boat, in the swamps in Slidell, we decided to take the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway back to the French Quarter and enjoy the sunset from the bridge. We couldn't have timed it better!
No matter which way I looked the view was phenomenal!
The Causeway, consists of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain, the longer of the two bridges is the seventh-longest in the world and the second-longest over water, measuring 23.87 miles (38.42 km) long.

forever
Watching the sunset over Lake Pontchartrain I feel like I can see forever! For a moment my world is suspended - I don't move, I don't breathe, I just am - in forever.

We timed our crossing of the 24 mile bridge perfectly to watch the sun fade from the sky. Everywhere I looked were glorious colors, water and nothing else. Divine!

we found cancer
We "need" cancer because, by the very fact of its incurability, it makes all other diseases, however virulent, not cancer. ~ Gilbert Adair
October 18th will never be just another day for me. That is the day that I heard the words, "We found cancer". That is the day my life fell apart, and indeed, the day I began to rebuild it.

Wisconsin Skies
This is my first time participating in Skywatch Friday. I had opportunity to enjoy the sunset on Washington Island recently. I hope you enjoy it too. :)

Sunset on the lake
Yes, the ground is now white in my neck of the woods and will remain so for many months, but I just discovered a folder of photos I never got around to sharing so I will be throwing some from warmer days in for a while.
So, there I was waiting for the boat to come to shore and take me out and I thought the sky was really pretty.
It didn't take long for the sun to start setting. These two photos were taken 13 minutes apart. Amazing!
And 9 minutes later it was still beautiful! It was chilly out there, but I imagine now that lake is frozen, and unboatable. So here's to remembering warmer days and reminding myself they will come again.
