Sunset from the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway
After our time in the boat, in the swamps in Slidell, we decided to take the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway back to the French Quarter and enjoy the sunset from the bridge. We couldn't have timed it better!
No matter which way I looked the view was phenomenal!
The Causeway, consists of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain, the longer of the two bridges is the seventh-longest in the world and the second-longest over water, measuring 23.87 miles (38.42 km) long.

I was there once in the October 1974. As we drove across we ran into a horde of monarch butterflies. It was an amazing sight just like your photos are amazing.
