sooc #16 Leopard Lily (Silver Squill)
I've already confessed that my green thumb is really more brown, but for some reason the Leopard Lily and I get along pretty good.
She has been blooming continually for about a year now. She usually only blooms in the summer, but she must like that I put her outside for the summer and bring her in in the winter.
I love her dainty blooms. :) She is seeming a little crowded in her pot lately, but I'm scared to transplant her. I'm not exactly sure how to get her out of the pot without breaking it. And I can't break the pot, we bought it in Mexico on our honeymoon.
This photo is the same plant in 2008. Oh my gosh! She really does need repotted!

Hiya Lisa,
ReplyDeleteSwing seat on the ground?
Thereby hangs a tale.
What a healthy plant, or plants.
I'll have a bit :-)
that's a great lily! never seen one of those before, would look great in my garden to :-)
ReplyDeleteGod knows that I don't have any advice for you. I'm just really impressed that you have a picture of the same plant from two years ago. Even at my best, I've never kept a house plant alive for two years!
ReplyDeleteGotta love a plant that survives in spite of us! It's an attractive plant too.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a tiger lily -- heard of them. It is a wonderful plant. Why not call a nursery to find out how to transplant? BTW, like you and Colleen, I've never made a year or more with a house plant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely plant!
ReplyDeleteI have a brown thumb too. Im pretty sure I can kill any living plant within a week.
It looks like you get along really well...what a beautiful plant...maybe it would like me too (I don't get along w/ indoor plants either) :(
ReplyDeleteShe may not really need to be re-potted, she seems very happy.
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful plant with
ReplyDeletelovely tiny flowers....
I never have any indoor plants live as long as a month let alone two years!!!! What wonderful shots!! And I agree, no way you can break a honeymoon pot!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only tiger lily I had ever heard of was the one in Peter Pan.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly a beautiful plant. It's little flowers remind me of lily of the valley.
The pattern on the leaves is really nice. It looks like the photo at bottom shows the plant on an old child's swing? :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous! My plant successes are limited to cacti and succulents. :o)
ReplyDeleteI agree, it is too lovely a pot to risk breaking. Sounds like the plant likes being outside in the summer and indoors in the winter because it sure looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty!!! The plant AND the pot! No, do NOT break that pot!
ReplyDeletethat is such a pretty plant
ReplyDeleteThis is coming from someone with a totally black thumb, but I'll bet it's hardy enough that you could cut it into two or more plants. Gifts for the kids??? Love that Mexican pot.
