I was happy enough finding this little fellow on the side of our house, then I looked about and noticed. . .
He was sitting inside a light and I really like the background lines.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. :) MM started on Sept 29, 2008 - Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week!
I see you spent some time tracking this fellow. Is it still in the light?
ReplyDeleteSuch neat moths! I just remembered - I took a photo of a yellow woolly caterpillar yesterday. Now what did I do with that photo? LOL
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors and patterns on these moths..Simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell, my snap isn't exactly a moth, but quite moth-eaten, nevertheless. Love the colors of yours!
ReplyDeleteDoes this moth have a name, I wonder. The first shot is so beautiful in colour formation.
ReplyDeleteNice macro shots!
ReplyDeleteThe feelers are like a pair of leaves, amazing!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it that they hang out on the house? But why is your house so clean?? My moth photos have spider webs, spider droppings, chipped paint . . . yet yours are pristine. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteNice shots and I too, love the lines!
ReplyDeleteI really like the last two shots for the lines as well and for me I have a sense of movement like he's in a tube that's moving even though I know the light is stationary. Like a log roller. Anyways....great shots!
ReplyDeleteLove that you got the antenna so well.
Amazing details in these fantastic shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gem of a shot!
ReplyDeleteThe last shot with the background lines is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI linked up today! Thanks for hosting :-)
Nice details and nice background.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. I really like the lines, too.
ReplyDeleteIndeed a lovelu background and the butterfly has fine pattern.
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
ReplyDeleteCould not put in my link. I'll do it here...

Your macros are just stunning. I love moths as long as they are outside and not in my closet. :-)
ReplyDeleteMorning Lisa
ReplyDeletegreat shots of your moth, the lines make a great back ground, sue,x
And now, thanks to this little fellow do you still have clothes ?
ReplyDeleteI admire your shot ! to make and ugly beast a beauty !
Fantastic shots!
ReplyDeleteMoths are kinda understated don't you think Lisa. That first shot is great and makes that moth look ever so pretty. As for your sooc below - now thats so good and I totally agree with you on being braver behind the lens.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI usually only see blah colored moths, like white, tan, or spotted neutrals. These are such interesting colors! Interesting that I chose a butterfly for macro mon. I agree with the commenter above me that moths "are kinda understated". I, too, like that first shot.
Hiya Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThe moth is fine by me, but the Cabbage Whites are not in my good books:-)
Their larvae yet again stripped three of my roses, all the double stock plants and two complete berberis shrubs, completely complete. Where's my shotgun.
My post is still sad, as I am still sad.
Maybe visiting others today will lift my spirits.
Very cool moths, I really like those lines as a background too.
ReplyDeleteEveryone goes gaga over butterflies, but moths are just as beautiful. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteStunning photography!
ReplyDeleteI love the lines and colors, they blend beautifully! Mr. McLinky said that the file size for my macro shot was too big and would not let me post it today.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhh that is a really cool moth! I love the markings on its wings!
ReplyDeleteThese are really great shots!
ReplyDeleteMoths are so interesting! I love how clearly the feathery antennae of the white one show!
ReplyDeleteHi there !
ReplyDeleteLovely shots on the Moths !
My favorite is the one in the middle !
Great antennas he has :)
Wonderful shots...I love all the fine designs in their wings!
ReplyDeleteMoths and lights - when will they ever learn?
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Both the butterflies as the photos you made of them! Great job! And thanks again for inspiring and challenging us!
ReplyDeletexx Monica

Ooh - I like them both! Great shots - how fun for you to have found them!
ReplyDeleteThe moth and his antenna are great, but the lines in the picture really add to the composition. This would be fun to play with in PhotoShop!
ReplyDeleteGreat photography as always Lisa! It's been so long since I've played along, a long time since I've been by too now that I think about it. Hope all has been well in your world!
