The Cedar Waxwings have been unusually cooperative. I really enjoyed watching this pair bounce around eating berries.
The one closest to us would pick a berry, hop over on the branch and give it to the other one.
The rest sat far above while these two had their intimate dinner.
I'm assuming they were a pair as they never got far from each other.
These are absolutely stunning pics Lisa! Awesome shots! Beautiful Birds!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous pics and what beautiful waxwings :)
ReplyDeleteReally stunning shots!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have those here...what a beautiful couple they make!
ReplyDeletewhat a glorious sight this is, excellent, specially the second one, i love the details.
ReplyDeleteI love cedar waxwings. They are such beautiful birds. We have a pair that's been hanging out in our crabapple for the last two days.
ReplyDeleteOh! such a beautiful pair of birds. Love everything about the shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture. Those waxwings are usually so flighty (if you'll excuse the expression) that I have trouble getting an in-focus image of them. What romantics they are!
ReplyDeleteThat certainly was a fun love story to see through your eyes!
ReplyDeleteThey are my fave!!! Love seeing them in the winter when some migrate here.
ReplyDeleteso pretty. i don't believe i have barely seen birds around here...a few robins which are way too timid to get anywhere near to snap. and a couple of cardinals. i'll have to spend more time next year searching them out!
ReplyDeleteThey are my favorite birds and I have only seen them once. What a treat you have there. Great photos
ReplyDeleteLisa, they are so sweet! Your photographs are really magnificent. You must be so pleased... and I bet it is/was really enjoyable to sit and watch them!
ReplyDeleteSo that's what those things are! I've seen them, but I never knew what to call them. Looks like a very happy couple.
ReplyDeletethese waxwings are beautiful. i love how you captured one giving berries to the other. that was sweet. really nice captures.
ReplyDeleteThe third picture with the berry in it's mouth is amazing. So was the male feeding the female or vice versa do you suppose? Who is the gatherer?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! They are one of my favorite birds, I keep planting different berry varieties in my yard to entice them, so far only a couple of sightings...
ReplyDeletethey are very attractive . . .
ReplyDeleteonce a flock of cedar waxwings landed in a juniper outside the window. what a racket they made as they devoured nearly every berry. when they were finished they flew off as a group.
