I don't know a lot about Terns, in fact I had to look them up in my bird book to even know these were Terns.
I thought I was shooting a mama and baby here, but now I'm not so sure. Are they just two different kinds of Terns?
Or is he a baby, just starting to get the color in his beak?
Very cool, Lisa. I love how vivid these are with their crisp black and white then that splash of color.

Well if they can use an alternate spelling for "Byrds"...
In the second shot they remind me of Dilbert's boss. But the color and the detail is way better.

ReplyDeleteTwo different terns.
ReplyDeleteThe one with the orange bill is a Royal Tern and the other with the black bill with yellow tip is a Sandwich Tern.
Cheers!
Don't have a good answer for you. I just know that one good Tern deserves another!

ReplyDeleteHmmm ... I have no clue but I love your photos as always. It's been quite some time since I've visited but I'm enjoying the process of catching up in my reader this morning. Methinks it'll take a while but I don't want to miss a thing ... ya know? Thanks for making the whole post available in your feeds. Loved the 'swamp' views and think the cupcakes shots were great fun and the shots of the kids marvelous as always. What QTies ;-)
