While Dennis waited in the car I walked closer to the Turkey Vulture and clicked away. The bad thing is, I had to get within 10' of his dinner (a raccoon) to snap him.
I was holding my breath for these photos, lol.
Then, I scared him away. Hey, he looks like I did when I went down the zipline!
I'm sailing. . .
He didn't go far though, I bet he was afraid I was going to eat his stinky dinner.
Evey creatures has a purpose:). Awesome captures!
ReplyDeleteI bet you had no intention of doing that!!
ReplyDeleteBut you caught some real great pictures again Lisa!!
I try to appreciate turkey vultures, but they are one of the ugliest, ickiest birds I know of...I try to remember Regina's motto...
ReplyDeleteGREAT shots!!! I love how brave we become behind the lens:)
ReplyDeleteThey are spooky creatures! Don't their wings sound weird when they flap that close to you? Great shots ;0)
ReplyDeleteYou are the true photographer! I would never photograph vultures, they disgust me! :)
ReplyDeleteOogly boogly ugly mugly! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the take off shot!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely great pictures. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to take some pics of three vultures in a tree. Though my pictures aren't nearly as good. I have to learn my camera. Have a great day.
ReplyDeletegreat shots. We have a lot of Turkey Vultures in our area right now. They roost in some very tall cottonwoods about 5 blocks away. It's so fun to watch them swirling and whirling in the breeze, there must be hundreds of them. It looks a little like a lazy tornado.
ReplyDeleteI like the shot where the bird is flying away.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome creatures that are underappreciated. They have a purpose like eveything else in the circle of life.
ReplyDeletewow!!! greatfind and shots...you should have photographed his dinner...I would.haha. beautiful as usual.
ReplyDeleteYou know about a month ago was vulture appreciation day. I see turkey vultures all of the time, but hardly ever this close up.
Wonderful find ... great views! Love them all ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I've never seen one of these this close up before. We have them all over the place down here but I've only ever shot them from a distance.
