If you could add one month to the calendar year, inserting it between two existing months, where would you put the extra 30 days? (You can assume that the weather for this month will be a mix of the weather typical of the month preceding it and following it.)
I took this photo back in November, during the first snowfall. I have this fascination with snow that demands we get out in it every time it starts falling. Luckily, my husband acquiesces to my urges. What struck me, and made me snap, was the bright clear sky shown in the mirror, as opposed to the grey, snowing sky right above us. I just hadn’t figured out a post to share it in, until now.
So, where would I put those extra 30 days? I am really torn, a part of me truly loves the snow. But I think my favorite time of year in Wisconsin is May and June, so I would stick it right between them. The temps are gentle, warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, yet not stifling hot (like it’s ever stifling up here). And after our long winter I enjoy being able to get back out.
I got this question from Chat Pack: Fun Questions to Spark Conversations :)
I love the rear view mirror shot. You're so right, the contrast between the skies is dramatic.
ReplyDeleteMe too...about the mirror shot...terrific shot...
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like my extra days between September and October...but between Many and June are good too. I don't mind winter, though I admit I'm now looking forward to spring flowers as the snow gets a bit grungy this time of year from pollution. It's the extreme heat in summer that I dislike.
ReplyDeleteLove the statue!
The angle for the shot of the women is interesting. I would not have thought of that..thanks teach!
ReplyDeleteI would stick the 30 days between October and Novemeber. Fall , my fav!
Hugs TJ
These are great, Lisa. That statue is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI would throw an extra month between Nov. and Dec. I love the drama of Nov. and the peace of December. (Wow. Am I bipolar?) I would love the mix.
We are having big fat fluffy snow right now, I could gladly send it your way, :-) Love the shots.
ReplyDeleteMy extra month would go between September and October. Here, it's still warm and there's lots to do, with our version of "fall", it would be great. There might be more baseball, too.!!
ReplyDeleteBetween April and May or September and October. Down here we don't get much spring or fall-- we're all hot humid summer or bitter cold and dry winter. So those warm, breezy days of spring and fall are precious, and I always find myself wanting more.
ReplyDeleteIn Florida, no doubt it would be an extension of April, but it would have to be an extention of the beautiful weather we get in April because come June 1st, the humidy starts every year. Love you photos, as always:)
ReplyDeleteI agree! Nature at it's best, gorgeous flowers, everything still unspoilt, fresh and lush. I'm all for it!
ReplyDeleteSigh - Beauty :)!
ReplyDeleteI would put mine after May.
Early summer/late Spring, I love that time :)
Right between April and May!
ReplyDeleteNo question about it . . . MAY wins hands down. My roses EXPLODE in May!
ReplyDeleteI don't know hon, it's sure stifling down here sometimes. I'd say another month between April and May or May and June. The last three days have been pretty bizarre, no? Or did you miss out on the snow again.
ReplyDeleteIn New Mexico? Weather alone would dictate between September and October. No one could ask for anything more perfect. Buy I might choose between June and July because it would be another month at the pool. I wish in this process I could eliminate March or April!
ReplyDeleteIn other parts of the world, I'd probably add a month of Spring.
Like, you, I need to go out in the snow. We don't have it often, however. We have it a few times a year, but not regularly.
