Wascaly waccoon

I'm not sure how well you can see this, but this raccoon(?) is driving me crazy! He has stolen 2 suets, feeders and all. Another one he managed to steal the suet and left the feeder at the edge of the cornfield. And two of them the suet is gone and the feeder is up out of my reach! He's making me crazy.

Have you ever tried to get a couple of toddlers, with sucker rings, together with a toy raccoon for some photos?



Addy says "Cheese". The raccoon has a sucker too. . .well, until Twister swiped it, lol.



If Adrianna were the older one I would swear this is a photo of my oldest two, Britney and Mikal.  Well, Mikal with brown eyes, lol.

First of the Month

March 1, 2011

Not a lot exciting in my world on March 1st, but I had a good lunch at Chili's with my bandit. :) I quit drinking Diet Coke (the only soda for me for the last 16 years) in November - still going strong. Water has grown on me - before, I never drank water - I do mean, never ever. I drank about a 2 ltr of Diet Coke a day and that was all. Now I only drink water, and occasionally a sobe lifewater (no aspartame).


Often I eat a burger or steak at Chili's, but today I had a blt - yum!

First of the Month

February 1, 2011

Well my plan was to use the worm in each photo, but we were traveling over the 1st of this month and I feared breaking him - he's glass. So I chose an object from that photo to take with me. The small raccoon finger puppet easily fits in my camera bag and travels nicely.  While in Louisiana we found a garden full of blooms!  Mr Raccoon would like to share some with you!

a bandit and wild orchids

I’m always delighted to find a patch of this Wisconsin wildflower. The pink ladyslipper (Cypripedium acaule) is one of Wisconsin’s wild orchids.

There’s a wayside near Necedah where they grow, I’ve yet to find them in other areas - but maybe someday.

They're a rather large orchid, maybe the size of an Iris. . .

A little further down the road this raccoon crossed our path.

He crossed the ditch and came out wet on the other side. “Bye Bandit!”

and still further down the road I found a field of blue. Lupine is very important to the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly - I tried to find the butterfly, but all I found was lupine. Someday though I will see one!

Right here, Right now

Red-bellied toad, ok, Really he's a fire-bellied toad, but his belly is a pretty Red.

Really close to a Reptile.

While at my parents' I was snapping some photos of a wren – that little wren was chattering like crazy and when I turned around I saw this fellow in the tree behind me. It was getting late enough I had to turn the on camera flash on – I couldn't risk going to get my flash, he might bolt – I thought about editing the eyes, but I want you to see how scary he was and I think the glowing eyes add to the fear.

I took this as my clue to leave, I was afraid he was going to jump down on me. Remember the scuffle my mom had with a coon back in May?

Doodles

The truth of the matter is that I don’t often have opportunity to doodle. But this past week, something occurred, and later I felt the need to make some scribbles. The moment was scary, and sad, and we’re really, really sorry, but my interpretation of the moment had us laughing like silly school girls for quite a while. Please note the sizes of the raccoon and the mini-van - that’s no exaggeration!

Gas around us has dropped to $3.19, which makes us very happy. And the floating head is how I used to draw myself, when I had a perm - I was showing hubs, since he always laughs at my onion-head version of myself.

OH, and when Dennis crawled under the van to check things out he discovered a smily face on the oil filter - left by our mechanic. Seems everyone doodles.
