Macro Monday

IMG_4998

These sure didn't turn out as good as I had hoped.  I guess that's what I get for being too lazy to get out the big camera.  These are iPhone photos.  I wanted to share the wonderful ice and snow we got this week.  Winter is really hang onto us here in central Wisconsin. :(

The branches were full of ice, and ice dangled from the tire swing.  At one point a few days later the ice all spontaneously left the trees - it was very loud!

Snails and Snow ~ Macro Monday

I recently went geocaching and while walking along the frozen shoreline came across these snails amongst the ice. So many of them, so odd.

Although it's hard to see the ice, all of these are frozen beneath the water too.

Sunshine warms my soul.  Even in my lowest moments I can feel myself reaching upward.

ice

You may be tempted to close yourself off sometimes, let the warmth of others help melt that facade.

fenced in

011511

I have noticed my tendency to lean more towards "I can't" the older I get.  I fence myself in, afraid of climbing over.  Today I reclaim, "I can!" and risk getting barbed in order to experience new things.

I wanted to get a photo of cows with snow on their backs, but the first morning I went out apparently the fresh snow had already melted off of them. . .the next day it was snowing so much it disrupted the look I was aiming for. . .

The ice on this cows nose, this was more along the lines of what I wanted. . .oh well.

Blue Ice

IMG_6336

The ice is blue and shoving its way up to the shore. Cracking and pushing and piling.

Ice on the Pier

IMG_6401

I was so intrigued by the way the ice formed around this pier!

This is the ice on top of the pier - amazingly formed!

Who would have thought the wind could whip the snow into a pile straight up a sign - cool!

IMG_6428

Along the shore, the wind has made little formations that make me think of volcanoes or homes for some sort of sea dweller.  These were taken up in Door County, on Lake Michigan.

frozen

When faced with a shocking diagnosis we often walk around numb for a some time, it's important to break through and reach the emotions below.

Had an opportunity to run up to Door County and check out Lake Michigan.  North side of the pier.

This one reminded me of a shark lurking below.

broken ice

I can broken.  Somedays are easier than others to shatter me, don't be deceived by my strong exterior.

Winter is here. I dumped this ice out of my birdbath on Friday - the ice is still where I dumped it - 2 days later, Sunday evening - ice still there!

Leaf me chilly

lc2981

There's something magical in a mountain of fallen leaves, so crisp and refreshing on a cool autumn day.

lc2977

Then the snow start to pelt your head and you are quickly reminded that winter is on her way.

lc2978

We had the earliest snow that I've seen since we've lived up here - October 12th!

lc2982

Of course, it didn't stick around, thankfully!

lc2980

And it did provide some interest for a few photos. :)
