Photo Shoot fun
Unbeknownst to me Dennis snapped this photo of me taking a photo. That is the 70-200mm lens, but it is the same size as my 100-400mm that it generally on my camera. So you're seeing what I carry pretty much all the time, hiking, etc. The set up is about 8 lbs if I remember correctly.
So do you wonder what I was shooting?
I was shooting reflections of Sheila on Rich's sunglasses and trying to keep myself out of the shot. The little footbridge worked pretty good for it.
Dennis isn't the only who gets sneaky with the camera. ;)
1 week from today we will be on the road! Busy, busy, busy - I just know I will forget something. But I am checking things off my to-do-list daily.

Hah :D
ReplyDeleteI love that sunglass shot and the sneaky ones.
8 pounds? Darn. I was on the scale with my 18-200mm the other day and came to 1.5 Kilos or so.
I need to weigh it again without me this time :D
Your photos look like great fun :) . Wow, what an amazing camera you have! I love these shots. Have a great time on the road. I also always forget something, even though with the to-do list ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, I love reflections, and these are great. But then again, coming from you, what would I expect?
ReplyDeletewhat a creative shot. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGonna miss you while you're away.
But, have a lot of fun and pack the 8 lbs first ;-)
I LOVE sneaky:)
ReplyDeleteFun photos!! Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteCute photos! It is funny you posted that today because not too long ago I had a conversation with a friend about reflection pics in people's sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteOne week from today I'll be on the road too! I'll think of you...where are you headed? You've probably said, but my memory escapes me at the moment. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteThose are fun shots, especially the one of you taking the shots. And that poundage is what keeps my camera home more than I'd like. I get headaches when weight strains my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteEight pounds! That's twice what my full-grown dog weighs! The reflection shot is pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteLove the reflection shot, but what I really wanted to say was: Dayum! You're looking good kid! Look at you all svelte and sassy and sexy up there!
ReplyDeleteI considered that lens then opted for the 200mm f/2.8L prime instead. For what I was doing at the time it seemed like a better option (and only cost about half as much). I'm feelin' your pain though. My 30D with the vertical grip and the 17-55 f/2.8-IS wide angle is probably not much lighter than the rig you're showing. The 17-55 weighs almost as much as my 200mm. Add an on-camera strobe and it gets very weighty indeed. (And that's before I load it down with pictures! *wink*). Just based on feel, when I take the camera out of the backpack in that configuration, it feels like half the weight is gone out of it.
Very fun! I love visiting your blog!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Love the shot in the shades - very cool!
ReplyDeleteLisa, you are NOTHING like i imagined. You're hot, you're hip and that's that! I love these shots.
ReplyDeleteLook at Ms Skinny Minnie! Fun photos :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I would take more photos AWAY from my house if I didn't have to carry my purse (usually filled with snacks and wipes and water for the kids) have three kids in tow- usually one on my hip - the camera is the last thing to come along
ReplyDeleteHa ha!
ReplyDeleteGreat set!
The first and the second photos are really funny cause they are like a "cause" and "effect" kind of. We see the photographer ,and on the other the "result" printed on the glasses.
Nicely done!
Lisa: Those a really outstanding captures of you and Dennis with the camera.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. I love to study your photos and see what you do and how. You are a great teacher and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove that reflection shot! leave it to the professional to get such good results, hats off to you and hubby!
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the "behind the scenes" photos as well. As you know I'm possibly going to photography school in the fall, and one thing I'm really looking forward to is getting a professional camera!
