Kitchen island

Dennis made us this awesome island for our kitchen.

Since moving into this old farmhouse we have been using a lot of steps in the kitchen.  You can see the stove over there, and the sink back there (pardon the mess I was in the middle of cooking dinner) and you can barely see the handle of the fridge, bottom left  - the tiles are 12" square and there's no counter next to the refrigerator - nooooo, it sits between two doorways - so that means to pour a drink you have to walk over by the stove.  Very inconvenient to have nowhere to sit things near the fridge.

June 1st brought us our 5th grandchild, another grandson - Ruben Valentino. Isn't he a doll?!



So much hair! Can't wait to meet him in person, until then happy to get to see him in photos at least.



So sweet! My stepdaughter and grandson - looks like she better catch those zzzz's quickly, I think the little fellow is waking up.

5 generations Macro Monday

Well life has been so busy lately that I haven't been able to spend time with my macro lens, hoping to change that soon, so I hope you don't mind that I'm sharing a couple of photos my husband took while we were in Missouri last weekend.

This was the first time ever that we've been able to get all five generations together. We started with grandma at the top, then my mom, then me, next my daughter and the tiny one is my granddaughter.

This one didn't turn out quite like we thought it would but still, Adrianna is holding a dogwood stem, then her mama, me, then my mom, then grandma - going round and round like a rose, lol.

I am not a monster

We're staying in the basement at my parents' house, Mikal and Amy too. I needed to go down to get my clothes this morning and the grandkids wanted to go too. Since Aunt Amy was still asleep I didn't turn on a light but, was relying on the light coming in the door from above. The kids paused halfway into the semidarkness and I plunged ahead. I found my phone in the dark, turned it on and pulled up the flashlight app, all while walking back towards where they stood.

As I turned the light on Addy said with relief, "Ohhhhh, I thought you was a monster." giggles "I thought you was a monster"

On the road

Headed down to Joplin. Stopped at our favorite reststop in Iowa. Doggies did their business and we're off.

Precious Addy

I sure do miss my sweet grandchildren. Can't wait to see them next month when we go to visit. :0)  I took this photo of Adrianna on their last day playing with me (when they lived here they came over ever Wednesday to play).

Missing the chaos

For the longest time I was so good about snapping a photo of the crew when we managed to get them all together. However, this last year I haven't been as good about it. I think they're out of practice. . .notice Haden is under the couch, lol.





Falling. . .



This was the last time we'll have them all together for. . .well, I'm not sure how long. . .my daughter and her family moved back to Missouri last weekend. I miss them all terribly already. :(  Our gatherings of 10 have been cut nearly in half.  And the baby of the group is now 19, instead of 3. :'(

Joplin MO Survivor story

This is my step-son's story of his experience in the f5 tornado. The house he was in was a few blocks from St John's hospital, which as you may have heard turned 4 inches on its foundation - a 9 story building 4 inches, just imagine how much wind that required!

Bryan recorded a few videos for us while we were there, I think it was cathartic for him.

Drippingly gross! Of course the guys thought it warranted a photo or two, lol. I decided to share when I saw how pretty the colors are. I mean, really, look past what it is and see the pretty colors involved. :0)

He's so much fun to watch!!!  As you can see his claw has come back, it's nearly the same size as the old claw now.  He molted every two weeks, the claw growing each time until here we are.

Fish Pets

I enjoy watching this little scavenger keep the tank clean.

This is the little Indian Puffer fish that is smaller than my pinkie fingernail. So sweet. :0)

Tristan's fourth birthday

So Tristan had a party with kids and everything. He then had a second party with us, lol.

He just looks so kissable! He was posing for his mama, I just snapped too. Every time I see it I want to kiss his cheeks. He's growing up way too fast!

And fun with jellybean pooping chickens. I started to clean up Addy's dress in photoshop, then I thought, nah, let it be. She's two, she should be messy, lol.







Tristan still loves his baby sister. He calls her, "My Anna" or "My Baby Anna".
