Dark-eyed Juncos are so fun to watch!

She looks so coy!  As you can tell I took these in the fall, everything is white now but they still come around.

We have Downy Woodpeckers in the yard daily too, along with their bigger cousins Hairy Woodpeckers. :)  I think they're so cute, I keep suet out just for them!

A Downy Woodpecker

I keep suet out for the woodpeckers, they seem to appreciate it.

It's a deal I've struck with them - I'll feed you, you pose for me - it works!

See, he doesn't even care that I could reach out and grab him, he just ignores the big black thing aimed at him.

Yum!

Then, he acted like he was going to ignore me, but. . .

Off he flew, maybe I did get a little too close, lol.

Some of you may not like this photo, maybe it seems a little dull, but it is that subdued coloring that drew me to it, it feels relaxing to me. I love woodpeckers, this downy was content to peck away pretending not to notice me or my lens.  What do you think when you gaze upon it?
