New Ornament SQUEAL!
I LOVE when the mail lady rings my bell! It means she has brought me something special! I was so happy Jenn offered to do an ornament swap this year and Southern Sass sent me an AWESOME ornament!!!
Let's check it out!
I love to just rip into the paper. I'm not a prissy-snip-the-tape wrapping saver, lol.
Oh my, I still can't see what's in there, can you?
It's SO perfectly magnificent! Believe! Indeed I do! THANK YOU SO SO SO VERY MUCH KIM!!! Hey, I just realized I didn't open the card yet - I better go back! :)

childish
I don't care how old you are, you're never too old to get down underneath the Christmas tree, shimmy under until your head touches the trunk and gaze at the flickering lights, getting lost in peaceful moments. With any luck no one will notice where you're hiding and you can dream for hours.

This huge owl is a new addition this year and he's a hit! He greets everyone who enters. :) {That's Santa on a butterfly next to him}

Smiling Snowman Macro Monday
I love snowmen! So is it any surprise that I bought a snowman ornament for my ornament swap partner?
He looks so very jolly! I love how he has his arms stretched way above his head holding a candy cane!
Oops! The bag it was in got dropped, and even the bubble wrap around it did not protect it. Still he wears a smile, silly fellow!
Love the dancing feet!
Goodnight sweet Snowy. Needless to say I had to buy a different ornament for the swap.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. :) MM started on Sept 29, 2008 - Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week!

A nice surprise!
First. . . Happy Birthday, Dad!!
It's been well over a week now since I opened my mailbox and found this - I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, and it must have confused my mail lady too, because she left my neighbor's mail on top of the bottle and my mail under the bottle, lol.
As I continued to examine it, I discovered it was from my friend, Cathy, and I recognized it as ornaments she made! How neat! (Btw, I still have not figured out what to make her, know what I want to make, working out the details, I'm slooooow) I was momentarily confused, wondering if it was designed to stay in the bottle, lol. So many things ran through my head - I never knew I could mail a bottle - what a great way to recycle, what would people think if I started mailing everything in bottles - I would never have to buy envelopes again, lol.
After careful examination I discovered there was a little door hidden under the label.
Aren't they cute?! Thanx so much Cathy! They'll look great on the tree! Promise, I'm working on yours, you'll be surprised when they arrive. :0)

ribbon
There are so many emotions involved with a cancer diagnosis, and I find I still get to ride the loops while in remission. Finishing treatment does not mean suddenly life goes back to normal. Normal is redefined through treatment and remission.

Got the supplies to make the Christmas cards - then I had to find the top of my crafting desk - success!
I typically draw out my design before I start, especially when I have 50 cards to make. Much easier to have everything all drawn out, make sure it all looks right, then start assembly line style.

Christmas Question
Is anyone aware of any Christmas Ornament swaps going on? I don't really have the time to host one this year, sorry.
UPDATE: Jenn has offered to host a swap, pop over to her place to sign up (just click on the photo to be zipped off to her page).

Hands up!
Things have been a little chaotic around here lately and I almost forgot to share the ornaments I made out of the grandkids hands. Rather than trace around their hands multiple times I traced them each once on paper, then used it as a template on the dough. I used an exacto knife to cut the dough and a straw to make the hole for ribbon to be inserted. I then used a sharpie to write their name and Christmas 2009 on the back of the ornament.

A little angel (Macro Monday)
When Jientje visited from Belgium she brought this sweet little angel to live with me.
Such a sweet little face.
Hope you all had a wonderful, extended weekend, enjoying these first few days of the new year. :0)
