Green Macro Monday

I'm not sure if he's a worm or a caterpillar but he sure is uniformly green.

He's kinda chubby too, lol.

He reminds me of one of those sticky gelly creatures kids get out of coin machines.

Getting Dinner

This Blue Jay was making a ton of noise above my head! Rattling branches and creating a fuss! I pointed the camera up and discovered that he had caught dinner!

I hope he sticks around, we are almost as overrun by caterpillars as we are by chipmunks!

For the record, he did not poop on me.

Fuzzy Three

Remember fuzzy one and fuzzy two? Well Fuzzy Three is big enough to eat those other two and still feel hungry!

But honestly I'm just stalling here. I did go out in negative degrees Sunday and take some snow photos for a certain group of people who have no snow to play in. However, they are not yet off my camera and we're destined to get 8-12” with the storm blowing through currently and I guess it has made me too antsy to mess with it all. But I promise I will get right on it after I finish playing in our pristine white stuff. :)

Fuzzy Wuzzy Two

Remember this little fellow? Well now we have one the same size (remember how small?) but different coloring.

Fuzzy Wuzzy One

I really don’t know what this little fuzzy guy is but I found him fascinating. I know it’s some sort of worm or caterpillar, but check out his horns. He has black hair on his head and butt in shape of horns.

And he wiggles lots! Tons of tiny little legs with kinda suction cup feet. He scurries quickly, here and there and makes my head spin.

Can you see the ridge of longer hair along his back, starting about midway, and getting longer as nearing the butt? Notice how his head tucks in and pops out as he moves.

In fact that last group of hairs along the ridge almost remind me of a tail. And I think he’s wagging it at us.

And he’s off again. I hope he enjoyed his little portrait session. Sometimes I wish my macro was more zoomy, but I think you’ll understand when you see this.

That’s my finger, and yes I took the photo one handed, but you see how little he is? Simply amazing, or I thought he was. I like how you can see some of the little ‘hairs’ on the leaf.
