Just a few odds and ends found on a beach near Jacksonville. The morning lighting seemed to be perfect to bring out the colors. Ahhhh.
I found these in a couple of spots but have no clue what made the little sand balls.
I think the sand in the shell looks like snow, but it wasn't, lol.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
I love beachcombing! You found some great stuff there, too! I love the little sand balls - I believe these are usually made by worms burrowing into the wet sand to await the next tide.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, the colours are great!
Pretty amazing shots...!! Love the textures and sensory feel to it all.
ReplyDeleteKiki~
OK, a couple of things. One, how wierd is that - we both did a post involving sand balls! I actually wrote this post before I came here to sign up to the MckLinky and what do I find, sand balls - spooky!. Two, Jay, how did you get your link in before mine - it wasn't there before I put mine in!
ReplyDeleteThese are interesting little finds. It does look like snow although somehow I don't think it feels the same as snow.
ReplyDeleteAh for the sand (and the sun). Nice close shots Lisa. That first one is an EWW shot. Looks kind of icky. I agree about the lovely morning light.
ReplyDeleteA day at the beach and great shots of your beachcombing time!
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like green salad lettuce. :)
I can smell the sea you picture are so fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI remembered seeing those sand balls in beaches in Krabi, Thailand, It makes such beautiful pattern on the sands, and I think those are made by the tiny beach hermit crabs?
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me want to go on a 'treasure hunts' by the beach! awesome.
I am in awe of your abilities with macros. I'm learning a lot from you just by viewing your work. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff all looks very interesting, and I'm wondering where it all came from. Great macros Lisa.
ReplyDeleteHappy MM.

ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.
I sincerely hope that these macros don't represent your actual mood ! lol ! I just imagine you kneeling in the sand with your nose on these things taking a picture !
ReplyDeleteGreat macro shot. It is interesting how strange an different things look from up close.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting range of little beach treasures here! I love the little plant - it looks like a mini lettuce - and especially love the view of the shell with "snowy" sand!
ReplyDeleteI just love walking along the beach searching for "stuff"!! You found some great things!! Love this set of pics!! Wish I was on a beach right this very minute!!
ReplyDeleteLove the shells with the algae since Amoeba is a botanist/oceanographer and algae is what pays our bills! You catured the color and beauty of it perfectly.

ReplyDeleteI love the beach shots. All of them are so beautiful! I always thought the sand balls were made by the tiny sand crabs as they dig in to the sand near the water. Grew up near the beach myself and I miss it like crazy!
ReplyDeleteGogeous textures and colors in those beach shots. The shell wrapped in green has an otherworldly quality to it.
ReplyDeletesorry about the double post...i used your url instead of mine. love your shots...that seaweed almost looks edible. crabs!
ReplyDeleteSo relaxing isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt does look a bit like snow, but I really think the 5th shot with the broken bits of shell looks like a little city. :)
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the waves crashing against the shore . Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI just love the textures here in the photos - its great what macro brings out in an object that you would otherwise overlook.
ReplyDeleteSnow? How could you mention snow when looking at beach pictures! Gah!
ReplyDeleteThey are calling for more snow here tomorrow night.
*sigh*
Wow, love your photos, as always. I can almost feel them. Beautiful and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I only have a point & shoot, so anything I take a close-up of is very, VERY blurry. Wish I was better at it!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent Macros! I love the sandballs, so cute!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just wandered in, and am I glad I did! I am so inspired by your photos, and by the fact that you've only been (sort of officially) a photographer for a few years. My interest has just recently turned more serious with the acquisition of a Canon 50D--what a Christmas gift! I am now on a mission to learn what the heck my camera can do...and to try to make it do it! :) Unfortunately, I'm stumbling along on my own, and I'm happy enough with that for now while I experiment. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE your photos, and I am going to try to participate in Macro Monday next week! YAY!! I'm going to add the button to my blog to remind myself! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSuch interesting pictures and colors! I'm not sure I've never seen anything like any of those before.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get caught up on weeks -- and weeks-- that I've just not been blogging. You've just filled up your blog with all sorts of treasures.
