Smallest Church (Geocaching in Georgia)
When I think of Georgia this is what I think of, Spanish Moss, and I wasn't disappointed - it was everywhere!
Even on the cross atop America's smallest church!
Isn't it cute?! It measures approximately 10x20 and seats 12. (And yes, geocachers, there's a cache there)
As I opened the door the lights magically came on, when I shut the door the lights went off, so I had to leave the door ajar to see anything. At the head of the church, people have left mementos/prayers - the church is open 24/7.
Each side of the church features beautiful glass and. . .
. . .behind the alter is this glorious stained glass.
I sat the little camera on the pulpit trying to get the inside, it didn't like the low light, oh well, you get the idea.
Nearby, I had to snap a quick pix of downtown Savannah as we passed through - so pretty!

ReplyDeleteI love Spanish moss too, but we don´t see it too often here.
I love the beautiful stained glass there, so awesome!
ReplyDeleteThere's a really small church nearby (well, an hour away), but it's much more spartan inside than this one. Love the stained glass.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing little church. And you know, spanish moss makes me think of Forks, WA and the Hoh National Rain forest. ;)
