I’m still always surprised by huge plastic wrap used on boats in the winters here, and the empty marinas.

  1. I am going to have to visit Wisconsin in the winter. You have sold me on this trip! Beautiful.

  2. I'm guessing that lighthouse doesn't see a lot of traffic this time of year...

Still makes great camera fodder though!

  5. First time I've seen the wrap thing...it makes a lot of sense, now that I think about it. Sure wish I had thought of Pamela's pun!

  8. Lovely lighthouse; makes a great winter shot. I grew up on the lakes (Ohio), so I'm used to seeing wrapped boats.

  10. The plastic wrap is funny! I've never seen anything like that!

I love lighthouses. They are so amazing! I've yet to ever see one IRL, but it's on my list.

  13. I like the second photo best. Sometimes having a picture at an odd angle really makes it less ordinary.

  14. Awesome shots! Although there's something contradictory (my own personal issue) about snow and a lighthouse. LOL! :D

  16. Now that they've started shipping boats and cars all wrapped up so they don't get dinged - especially here in Alberta where a cracked windshield is the norm - I sort of got used to seeing this oddity going down the highway.....would make a great photo!

btw - love the shots your husband took of the wind machines. The cloud! Wow!

  17. Whoa - that last windmill picture has one freaky looking cloud. (like demonic bunny or something)

Oops - that was the post before, I think.

  21. Saran Wrap for the boat is a weird concept. Doesn't interefere with the beauty of this light, though!

  22. Lovely lighthouse pictures! They remember me the great painter Edward Hopper...I love so much his paintings.

  24. Do you know how close you were to me?! Should've sent me a message! The park is even more beautiful in summer, and then you can climb the lighthouse.

  25. Fascinating to see all those boats raised out of the water like this, but it certain makes sense in such winter weather.
    Hugs and blessings,

  27. I'm sure I've never seen plastic wrap on a boat, and I LOVE how blue the sky is behind the lighthouse.
