Sookie aka Patches
Sookie found a home. I know several of you fell in love with her too, but distance and such made it difficult. I'm really happy with the people who are taking her because she is only moving next door. I feel so lucky that I will be able to continue watching her grow up.
The funny thing is, she is going to the people we thought of first, when she came into our world by surprise. Our neighbors lost a dear friend, a 13 year old yellow Lab named Blue back in August, and when Surprise Puppy popped out we immediately thought of them. But we didn't know if it would be too soon, etc. I introduced Sookie to them a week ago and they fell in love. One day last week they took her home for about 3 hours to see how she fit in with everyone (they have 3 sons) and a cat. When they brought her back, they let me know they wanted her and we set up a date for her to go. The youngest boy has renamed her Patches and I think they will all be fine, but if not, she'll only be right next door. :0)
A couple of weeks ago, Sookie went to the vet and got her first shots, I snapped this with the cell phone while she hid under the bench, lol. Couldn't remember if I had shared it, if I had, oops!
She discovered the grandkids' nerf soccer ball - she loves it! Flips it and rolls it and bites it.
Adrianna watching her. Addy and the puppy get along pretty well. These were all snapped with the cell phone Sunday - yeah we still have nice weather - shocking!
Sookie kept zipping between Addy's legs and biting the bottom of her dress, lol.
She's so feisty and fun!
Playing with daddy.
She will be missed by us all, especially her mommy.

playful
My size doesn't matter, I have the strength to take on things 10 times bigger than I am.

I really should have taken my flash out with us I guess, oh well, I still like this one of her. Sorry I'm overloading you on puppy for a little bit here, I'm assuming I'll find a home for her soon and her time here is limited so I'm soaking her up. :)
She jumps and runs and wants to play with everyone. That's her daddy's leg you can see on the right.
He ran like a little girl while she chased him wanting to play, she finally cornered him and he turned with fear in his eyes, lol.
Brodi's pretty cautious of his wee one, but he does play with her a little and she's starting to mimic his play. This photo was taken right before the first photo. A series of three.

companion
The parents of this pup were my constant companions while going through chemo. Each time I had chemo I would spend several days in bed, Fibi and Brodi would stay right beside me, undemanding, just comforting and quiet. After a few days, Brodi would take it upon himself to drag me from the bed, he would jump down onto the hardwood floor and tap-dance while softly woofing. His antics would bring a smile to my face and I would get out of bed for him.

Photographing a puppy is not the easiest thing. She has no clue what a camera is and when she sees a person her whole body wiggles with joy. The tail wags, she wiggles and she tries to get around the black thing pointed at her and into the hands that scratch her back and make her happy.
Mama jumped over to see what I was doing with her baby, of course Sookie went to mama. You can see her puppy pad in the background, she's doing very good with it.
Her nose is all the way black now. :0) Anyone need a playful puppy? She'll be ready to go to a home around November 15th.
Added a very short video, she had chased my feet for quite a while and was getting tired before I thought to try video on the phone.
